Like a Cronenberg movie?
Pretty much.
TBF Iāve watched a lot of body horror films, love Cronenberg, so Iām very familiar with imagery. But the quality is different: Way more vivid and detailed and they are not really nightmares. I am not frightened, disgusted or shocked.
you could google
ā(insert dream) dream interpretation / meaningā and it could give you some answers.
Why not. Universal dream image interpretations are often a bit iffy (different cultures, languages), but it wonāt hurt.
The shards pulled out of the hand (some Quora):
āDreams about pulling glass shards out of your hand could potentially symbolize several things: Emotional Healing: Glass shards in dreams might represent emotional pain or trauma that youāre dealing with. Pulling them out without bleeding could symbolize a conscious effort to address and heal from emotional wounds.ā
For the last well, quite a few years, longer than Iāve been on sub club subs, most of my dreams have had a theme.
Iām always wandering around some type of surreal maze like environment like a city or college campus trying to accomplish some kind of objective. Iām always having trouble finding something, and the people I run into seem to always side track me. They answer questions with things that have no relation to what I asked, or they ask me to do other things.
I havenāt read it. I havenāt played video games in many years. It does kind of remind me of a video game though.
One thing that I would put under the weird category was āhaving dreams different than the usual themesā, including the absence of dreams I usually had.
I havenāt dreamed about zombies or Cronenberg type scenarios since I donāt know how long ago. To me, that was weird - the absence of those types of dreams.
Surreal maze like environments, occasionally. But definitely not as often.
Having dreams about houses that are intact and well lit, that was weird for me because it was unusual, and now they are more common for me.
This is one approach. I think Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud thought certain things in dreams meant certain things. Then there are Gestalt therapists who might say that symbols are unique to the individual, and possibly encourage the person to act out the dream or symbol, and then say what they think it means. For example if there was a big chair in the dream, the person who had the dream with a big chair would act like that chair or stand like that chair, and then start talking as if they were that big chair.
oftentimesļ¼I would have dreams that my teeth falling offā¦in various situationā¦like laughingļ¼eatingļ¼or just walkingā¦and the sensation was awfully real ļ¼I could taste the blood in my mouth and feel the weigh of each tooth ļ¼also the texture was making even more convincingā¦.many times ļ¼I just woke up with tremendous gratitudeā¦.
My common dreams are zombies, ostracism, or being on the train into a sudden extension with non-word station names, and the train is either on a very narrow monorail or in dark underground.
Had this recently though
Ture, but all google tends to give generic answers
Iāve noticed that while most horror movies are not that scary, the good ones have this ominus / dark vibe that tends to stick for a while and for that reason iāve been aware of the media i am consuming
Thereās a saying that Turkish people respond with when you tell them you saw weird dreams;
"Senin Uyurken Gƶtün AƧıkta KalmıÅ.
Which means āYou left your arse open (uncovered by the blanket or whatever) when you sleepingā
Lolz.
Absolutely! Sometimes images stick with you too, especially if the films use dream language like Eraserhead or Channel Zero.
The transgressive power of horror films is often underestimated. They are just a way to go places you normally donāt want to go and to understand them. Pretty much like (good) comedy or in a way classical tragedies.
I think that the idea of looking up symbols in a dream dictionary is useless because symbols are indeed unique to each person. Some symbols may seem more common, but I wouldnāt say theyāre Universal, since if itās different for even ONE person, that throw out the idea of āUniversalā.
BUT! I will say that, if a person studies a dream dictionary enough, and thinks about the meanings of those symbols in the book, itās very likely that the dreams will start to take on the symbols/meaning from the book more and more.
A very crude way of āprogrammingā the SubC mind to āspeakā in the language of the symbols in the book.
Iāve noticed that when I run āhealingā type subs, I almost invariably have a dream about being back in the US Navy. I definitely donāt miss those days (for the most part. With some exception).
I havenāt had that kind of dream with the New Khan yet.
Which Iām glad for, those dreams are always hectic. Me feeling ātrappedā being back in the Nav and having to report to the submarine for duty. And iām always late and miss going to sea, etc. Getting in trouble.
I never had any of this, but I just hope that by reading this my subconscious mind didnāt get any ideas about dreaming with this at nightā¦
One of my most recent dreams is how Iām fighting with aliens in Doom-like style. Once I killed the aliens, I ate them.
Iāll just drop this here:
I had a dream where I was sleeping on my right side, and I felt a firmly hand push my left shoulder. When I felt this, I opened my eyes to seeing puppet strings attach to all of my limbs. I panicked and immediately woke up after that.
I have something that are not exactly dreams.
Today I felt again a bad spirit tormenting me and I just screamed out loud and woke up my upstairs neighbours again (I could hear their steps thatās how I know). I need to change my holy water and salt, for the spirits to go away.
I also dreamed about having lots of forks and knifes to wash and I didnāt know how did I made so much forks and knifes dirty!
Then I dreamed I saw my Mother and a Aunt visiting an apartment being refurbished. Because Iām fighting my Mother and I donāt talk to her (in reality), in the dream I went to quickly spy her without being noticed, but when walking away they both saw me.
All of this in 5h15m of sleep. A very productive sub stack processing night!
