One of the hallmarks of the man, was his reputation as “Uncle Walt.” His employees saw him as a father figure (even the ones around his age.)
He had serious caring big brother/uncle energy. This aura even extended to his public persona during the Cold War.
He was a complicated genius, but seemed like a genuinely good dude to his close friends, took care of people, but he was also dominant when needed but rarely if ever cruel.
He was smart, knew how to game the system, and knew how money and power worked instinctively.
