The rule of thumb, baseline is, the listener has to at least hear the sound wave of ocean in some form.
I’m confused about the ultrasonic,
I have my phone at 40% volume with ultras, but don’t quite know how far will it be on effect.
I use frequensee to check the db but how far it is effective, I don’t know it.
Help.

40% volume could be dangerously loud
Ultrasonic is well above 20,000 kHz which is above conscious hearing, however NOT above physical hearing. What I mean is that your ears are still picking up the sound above 20,000 kHz but your brain doesn’t process it to where you consciously hear it.
40% volume will most likely cause hearing damage to you and it would most likely be permanent.
The best way to use the ultrasonic is to where you just start to hear the ocean waves consciously. Be sure to not overexpose yourself and never expose anyone else to it, even children, no matter how young.

Do you mean that,
If I can hear the masked subliminals waves at 20 volume at a particular distance,
I’ll be hearing ultrasonic effectively at 20 volume at the same distance?
