I have this idea of building a 2 part custom.
Essentially, there would be a core node of 3-5 modules. This would be in both parts (i.e., part 1 and part 2 would both have this core set of 3-5 modules). The rest would be satellite modules.
Imagine that there’s a custom you would like to build that has 32 modules. But you’re limited to 20. So, you could take your core 4-6 modules (the most centrally important defining modules), and put those into both part 1 and part 2.
That then leaves you with 26-28 modules. You split those in half and put 13-14 into part 1 and 13-14 into part 2.
You end up with two ~18-module customs with identical cores, but different supporting modules. Then you can come up with your own exposure schedule. You could play them one after the other. You could play them on alternate days. Or some other arrangement.
I’m not sure if I’ll ever actually do this, or if someone else already is. But thought I’d write it down.
