I’m not talking about the product. I’m talking about the way you’ll sell it. Even if the product is completely new, marketing strategies don’t change very much. In marketing say :“Benefits before features”. Don’t try to sell the novelty of the product. Sell how it will help clients.
People don’t care if your product is new. They care if it helps them. So how does your product make someone else life, work or business easier? That what you need to sell.
Here is an example. Look at what @SaintSovereign is doing here. He is not selling ZP or QV2. He is selling how the sub will help us achieve our goals. You’re not going to buy a sub that doesn’t help you regardless of the technology they used to build it. I never purchased subs like True Social or Daredevil. I don’t care if they were build with the latest, newest technology. I have no need for them, they won’t help me at all. I’m already overly social.
I did purchase HoM, Emperor, and EOG. Why? Because my focus is wealth and status. If ZP disappears today, I’d gladly go back to running Qv2 of those subs. The newness of the technology (features) is what I look at last. The first thing I look at is what the sub can do for me (benefits). Benefits before features. ALWAYS.
My question to you is : do you have a clear idea how your product helps your target market? Can you explain to them the benefits of the product WITHOUT telling them that it is new (which they probably don’t care about that much). People who are going to give you their hard earned money will do it because the product helps them. Not because it is new.
Unless your product is doing something that we’ve never seen in the history of the world, you probably have competitors or there is someone selling something to your audience that does something similar.
Those are the people you need to look at. How are they doing it? How are they communicating with their audience? Which pains points are they hitting? Which platforms are they using? Once you understand how they make money, you’ll know what you can copy and what to stay away from.
Don’t overthink it. Here is how most marketers present their product or service : “You have this problem? You’re struggling with this? We have this product that will solve your problem by doing XYZ. Try it and you’ll see for yourself!”
Sales is always about solving a problem for someone. Focus on helping people. Whether your stuff is new or not matter less than you think.
