I often use the example of a squirrel-proof birdfeeder to indicate the amount of dedication it would take to master something compared to how much we are willing to invest in it. When creating a squirrel-proof birdfeeder, its designer spends a certain amount of hours on it. The squirrel on the other hand, thinks of nothing else but getting into that birdfeeder, from the moment it smells the nuts until the moment it needs to sleep. And then it’s back the next day.
