I’m thinking or hoping @SaintSovereign will chime in on this but is their a spiritual side to building Wealth? I have come across a couple of books recently that without magic or magick acquiring massive wealth isn’t necessarily possible.
I have always visualized magick as a highly focused intention similar to what Napoleon Hill talks about in Think and Grow Rich. Am I wrong? Is there more to it?
But in my experience any type of goal or paradigm shift in your life is highly spiritual to me. So accruing wealth requires deep identity level change. You become the thing you want on an identity level and then attract that to yourself in your own reality.
It’s the difference between those who try to become wealthy and those who become wealthy in my opinion.
If you want a fun and interesting rabbit-hole that will yield some great resources, check out Frater Xavier’s YouTube channel.
Those are the first two, from about 8 years ago, and they just keep going from there. You’ll likely be thoroughly entertained, and he covers what people need to know about wealth and spirituality. Gets there eventually. He’s in the Western Magickal tradition. So that’s his spirituality. Discusses Hermetic principles too, Kybalion stuff.
I’ll tag @BLACKICE just in case you’re interested.
This is dope. I downloaded his free life purpose program and haven’t been through it yet. But I remember you bringing up this guy before. I’ve been diving more into the hermetic teachings lately.
Wealth is an outward expression of abundance. Having an abundance mindset can expand beyond money into things like love, friendships, and beauty (think of the abundance of the ocean or a forest).
Yes, I believe that wealth has a large spiritual component.
You can also think of wealth as currency, and currency flows. So like a free-flowing river, wealth flows in and out if unblocked. So an unblocked energy system will allow the free flow of wealth.
Why can’t you believe it? I imagine it is a common thought amongst rich people or those wanting to obtain wealth.
Is this it, is there more to life, etc.
This is clearly untrue.
Take for example Warren Buffett.
If he had not given away part of his wealth to be wasted by the Gates foundation he would now be worth about $200 billion, ie a lot richer than Musk or Bezos.
Buffett has always been obsessed about making money, was born with all the advantages being a member of societies elite could offer and has a very high IQ. There fore he has three things going for him that the average bloke doesn’t.
And for the avoidance of any doubt the high IQ is the most important one.
But don’t be taken in by his genial nature, that’s just his ego talking, he is an asset stripper and the ultimate insider hedge fund manager and he is able to focus so intensely because he is unconstrained by social discourse as he is a bit of a weirdo. And a lot of his success is attributable to teaming up with Charlie Munger.
And because he is so rich and well known average people get taken in by his pronouncements but that just him talking his own book.
I really don’t think Buffett has ever practised magic.
Or how about the richest man to ever have lived, Henry VIII. (The English king with six wives for those who don’t know).
The majority of his wealth came from the Reformation.
Again no apparent recourse to magick.
Yes you are wrong and there is more to it. Hill was nothing more than a snake oil salesman who only made money buy selling motivation to the idiot masses. All his other attempts to make money were basically scams that all ended in abject failure.
So yes, you do have to be highly focussed but this is nothing to do with magic.
You want to be a copywriter. You need to start writing an awful lot more, but not here on this forum. Then you need to actively go out and offer value for what you do.
And you will need to work hard.
And focus on your business. And once you start having some success you will find that you can’t go away on holiday without wondering what the business is doing, you will wake up in the morning thinking about business and your last thoughts at night will be about business.
Are you prepared for that?
Because if you are, its a great way to live.
Whilst Malkuth is being helpful here you need to ask yourself if spending a great deal of time on this is going to benefit your business.
However, since you are this way inclined, as you know what a Thelema is then why don’t you write about that.
The message I want to drum into you is as a writer you need to be writing.
Alright you are interested in magick, be an affiliate for magic books etc then.
Start writing copy that sells, it can be about anything but you have to start.
And this is where people go astray.
JCast wants to increase the amount of dollars in his bank account so redefining what wealth is into “oh you’re rich in love” deliberately misses the point entirely.
But this sort of outlook comes from being a self help forum where individuals are groping for anything that can, well…help.
And lets be fair the vast majority of people really aren’t interested in the pure accumulation of capital like Buffett because they are not a weirdo like Buffettt is. So when they find an interest that fits into their ideology and holds their attention they go for it, because thats what they really want to do.
Because they affect your mind - your universe, which is whats driving you into all kind of ends. You seem like you need what the Alchemist has to offer
Because this, essentially, is the definition of magick.
Not robes; not medieval-enthusiast fairs. Not wands or glass balls.
The intentional cultivation of focus.
Combined with the skilled use of symbol to communicate with…
Wait, what’s that incredibly powerful and creative level of mind called? The one that generates our experiences of reality and with which we communicate effectively primarily through the use of symbol and emotion?
I know it started with ‘un-‘ or ‘sub-‘ or something, but it keeps slipping out of my awareness.
[@Malkuth turns head to look at classmate]: “Damn, good for you @Phoermes! I can’t even see any teachers in here. All I see are a bunch of students. Guess I need to keep working on Mind’s Eye.”
