Solace masked sounds like titles

I’ve received my first custom and paid more for solace masked
However it sounds like the masked titles

Did I pay for nothing?

Aren’t all main store titles made with Solace? So unless you pay for Solace, you get the old mask which is a more abrasive(my opinion) sounding water flow.

It sounds like you got what you wanted to me, what sound mask were you expecting?

There will be more sound mask options in the future but for now this is what we have.

I guess question is if the main titles have Solace
And if I don’t pay for it do I get something else

I don’t see why I need to ask the support if you guys can help

If you paid more for solace in a custom but it doesn’t sound like the solace mask, we can’t help with that. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

For a custom, if you don’t pay for Solace, you get the “Legacy mask” which is the abrasive noise you talked about. That was also the mask for the old main store titles back in the Q version days (before ZP).

So main store title masks were updated to Solace for us for free but for customs, this isn’t possible. Am guessing SC pays someone each time a custom is made with the Solace mask. I think it’s something similar to paying to use a patent idea. Or a audio codec. No idea about how it works.

Whereas for a main store title with the Solace mask, SC has taken the burden of the cost so that it remains the same 35USD (and 100usd for multistage).

If you think about it, the number of main store titles are…hmm how many titles are there? Close to a 100. So a 100 Solace Masked files (in the main store downloads section of nwhich are practically shared by us all) are easier to keep within the price range of 35 usd even after adding the cost of Solace mask as opposed to tons of customs made every month with Solace mask.

Went on a bit of rant but I hope that’s okay lol.

Yes, if it sounds just like the major titles in the main store it is fine, because those are all Solace, which is kinder on the ears and less listening strain than the other standard water mask that otherwise would come with customs.
