I’m serious here. Both times I’ve used OG Stark, I’ve had continuous imaginations of doing stand-up comedy.
Before that, I’d never even thought it a possible reality. I’m sitting here remembering and wondering “why?”
The best reason I can figure is this: it’s a manifestation of me facing my fears. Because…I’m an introvert. And not one to take a lot of risks normally. However, I can shine in front of a crowd; I taught for 10 years, and I excelled by reading the room and adjusting my approach to foster curiosity and trust. I loved that.
But stand up comedy? With longer use of Stark, I might have just given it a shot. It encouraged me to DO something about it.
I hope the updated Stark isn’t too serious. I laughed a lot and was WAY more social on it. Way more

Why not? Lots of stand ups are introverts.
Writing jokes often has something very technical, innovative and poetic. Stark kinda fits very well. Frankie Boyle described the perfect joke as a spell, every stand up tries to engineer: A specific sequence of words and no matter who says it, the people have to laugh.
(btw: If you are into Scottish dystopian stand up Frankie Boyle is the best.)

I cannot. It’s not too far, but not super close too. When we say there’s a method, you have to just trust us. Before we tackle a behemoth like EoG, we need to make sure we have all of our tech is updated. If you REALLY pay attention to what we’re working on and what we’re releasing, you can sort of intuitively pick up on it. Since EoG is supposed be the wealth title that goes the deepest (since it’s a four stager), you should be able to see why we wanted to get ASBR, Love Bomb, Daredevil, Mind’s Eye, and the such done first.
But, we don’t work linearly. Sometimes, I’m in a “Daredevil” mood, sometimes in the mood for something else. We don’t try to force it, since that ends up with a worse product. Right now, I’m in a Mind’s Eye and Renaissance Man: VIBES mood.
Which, the Renaissance Man: VIBES prototype is pretty crazy. I didn’t actually “feel” it like I do others, but I sent the Mind’s Eye track to a colleague. He called me earlier and simply said, “you ran that new Renaissance Man before you worked on this, right?” When I told him that I did, he simply responded “you can definitely tell.”
From a craft standpoint, I can see what he means.

I am exceptionally nervous about Seductress Dark. I’m observing the new protection scripting in Love Bomb before a decision is made.
Daredevil is in active and advanced development, meaning we’re nearing completion sooner than later.
Renaissance Man: VIBES is advanced development, as I’ve been using it for awhile.
EoG is early development.
Mind’s Eye is in early development, still conceptualizing.

Yeah. I’m not really sure it was introversion which kept me back. What did and does keep me back (in many areas) is trying to look like I’m extroverted when I’m not. The whole “trying too much and too hard” thing really kneecaps me when I think about it.
To be comfortable as I am is a real gift. I’ve ordered a Genesis/LB custom since I’m wishing to feel ok in my own skin again. I’m just trying to stop hiding–from myself first.

(Last OT post, not to derail this thread.)
What you describe is what many stand ups use for their programs. Who am I? Why the frack am I here? How is this world supposed to work? etc.
Stand up and laughing about it is often coping, working through stuff. Some of the best bits are.
IMO the comedy/humor aspect would work best in a module. It would be a great addition for a writer’s or stage/entertainer custom but also for pretty much every other custom aimed to better work with an audience (teaching, therapy, politics).

I was at work, and I remember thinking of funny stuff, seeing myself up on stage…and I remembered a couple of famous comedians/actors who seemed to implode. Some even ended their lives. It scared me since denial is a coping strategy as well. Booze, drugs, etc. are just means to enable it. I had this skit running through my head, and I began questioning myself, hoping to discover what I was dodging. It felt “freakish” in light of all the humor running through my head.
If one can make that funny, I’d pay to go see him or her.
–And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming…

These types of updates are awesome and give a “behind the scenes” type of feeling that we used to have with the Dev Journals.
Would love if you guys could bring something like that back, or give us more granular updates.
I know a lot of people get impatient and annoying when they think something is releasing soon and then it gets a little delayed (possibly myself included), so I understand the hesitancy. But I know I’d regret not asking

Its why I find comedians like Kevin Hart so inspiring. They went through a lot before they hit it big. Not everyone survives the journey though, sad.

@SaintSovereign when Upgraded Mind’s Eye comes out. Will I be able to do a QTKS rebuild or will I have to pay the standard 600$ USD to upgrade it?
Also do you think it will be out before May?
