Recommendation for a Sub

The Executive has always given me the most recon. As you might imagine, taking action is my biggest gripe and I have excuses that are very debilitating. For example, my favourite musician and I started out at the same time and I had some really good opportunities but then college started and I didn’t have the time freedom to work on music. As you can imagine, there is quite a bit of resentment towards people who pushed me in the direction I didn’t want to go in (Happens a lot in where I come from). Blackmail, emotional manipulation, and making it seem like being a musician is in itself a bad thing.

Now, I have the practice and the passion but the daunting feeling like what if it doesn’t work out. Makes me choose the easy route - make music when you feel inspired - not consistently.

Apply this to other activities as well. The point is, the way I take the best action is when I don’t consciously decide or guide myself. It’s when I subliminally move my attention to what I wish to do and end up finishing it. Whenever I consciously try to focus, that’s it - million reasons why I shouldn’t do.

Any idea how I could fix this?

I must however say, at the same time - I take arguably some of the most action. I don’t want it to sound like words in air so let me demonstrate:

  1. I have created atleast 500 projects (songs, designs, etc) from 2020
  2. I have read 10+ books this year
  3. Conducted tens of hours worth of events this year for my association in college
  4. Cracked a difficult exam and qualified for top most programs
  5. Judge case studies

And more…

But I hope you get my point…

Or, could very well be recon from EoG Stage 1

That I’m not following my true passion.

Take everything out of your life so taking action is pretty much the only thing left, otherwise there’s nothing to do.

And memento mori

And create a basic discomfort level - but not through willpower - just by creating such a reality.

I mean, start eating once a day - if you have troubles with it, ask someone to order you specific food once per day - give them your money so you can’t do it yourself. Or throw out your bed, start sleeping on the floor. And so forth, you get my point. At the same time, when you do close these basic needs, make sure it’s very high quality to see how good you could live. Eat only very high quality food, make it tasty. Sleep deeply. Be around beautiful women

And start doing something each day, that you didn’t think was possible for you. Anything. Be it 10 minutes doing the plank exercise or approaching a beautiful girl on the street - doesn’t matter. Fixate your wins

Cultivate a winner’s mindset. Create the state of winning, the state in which you feel like a winner. The action will follow

Oh! It’s not so bad tho!

It’s just very specific to certain actions - let me clarify - it’s more about chasing the goals. (They are big and huge - and that’s a requirement for any goals I set)

Perhaps is the disappointment that though I had the work ethic (daily - 10+ hours - feedback - improve) - I didn’t have the time to work on my music. And now I am not where I wanted to be…

Rest day to day is a breeze, all those actions are no issues!

What if eog is trying to show you that you don’t even need to work 10 hours a day?

I had the same thing with eog and then Emperor which showed me that most of the stuff I did was useless and a waste of time. Now my whole routine can be done in 2-3 hours each day easily, yet those are the highest ROI activities specifically for my goals

Been reflecting since yesterday. Made me also realise - why have I been putting making music off so much? It’s the “lack of time”

But my speed has improved - it was like taking the old skill set with the old time required

Now, I’m looking at it with my current skill set and future skill set that I will acquire with the new time I require

And it’s actually much better!

Yup! It was Recon!
