Questions a newbie might ask

But I never did earlier on, so I am asking them now.

Apologies if any of these points have been answered elsewhere on the forum-

Is part of the idea with finding your sweetspot in running a sub and the optimal loop time to not experience recon?

Does recon hurt your results or slow your progress?

Is it beneficial to push yourself to a degree and experience more recon. Is recon a sign of change?

Why does fatigue hit during a washout?

Yes… although “zero recon” is never the goal. Someone, at some point, had a really good way of putting it.

If you are in a work/life situation where you really need to be at your best, your “sweet spot” will probably be recon at a 2/10 or 3/10… a level where you can notice the shifts happening, but they aren’t distracting, and, they don’t last for too long.

If you’re in a position where you can handle more recon, or usually if you have more down-time to be able to process and transform from that recon, then your sweet spot might be a 6/10 or maybe even a 7/10. Where, you feel it enough that the best thing to do is take time aside to go for a walk, journal, meditate, do creative art, etc. Whatever helps you process.

You might not be able to handle a lot of recon if you’re in sales, studying for an upcoming exam, in a relationship that is close to it’s breaking point so you need to be cool headed and not reactive, or because you’re about to do ANY activity that is measured based on performance. For example, trying to seduce women while in recon will probably not go well (but on the flip side, taking action like that might kick you out of recon).

For me personally, I listen to very small loops during the work week, then a big loop on friday so that I experience all my recon on the weekend, and perform well during the work week.

No,

But just because recon doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t mean that recon helps. It’s just a symptom. Some subs will feel so easy they have almost zero recon for you, but, for the most part, recon will come, so keep it anywhere between a 2/10 to 7/10 depending on your life, and you’ll be fine.

Everybody has their own experience. For me, I don’t know why, Genesis has almost zero recon during the cycle, but the washout is heavy for me in terms of recon. My washout after Genesis was nine days before I felt like it subsided and I was ready to listen to subs again, even though the actual cycle felt effortless.

“Recon” isn’t a goal in itself. The point of finding the sweet spot is to get right below the exposure time that causes “recon”.

The idea that you have to experience “recon” to get results is another way of saying “no pain no gain”. Which isn’t true.

Get right below that point and you’ll still get results.
