Q Module Pack #19 - ESSENCE

So this is the way to have almost “all the majors” in one sub like love, wealth, intelligence, spirituality, etc.

Interesting.

It would be more awesome to have a major of majors in the main shop.:+1:

No. Naw. Nope. lol. Look at the first post.

I had a look but I just use the free tier which is very limited in terms of multi-user support:

  1. It doesn’t support individual users so everyone would be using the same data, stepping over each other making cross-referencing between records a mess.
  2. I can provide a public view but it’s read-only, and I can only give edit access to people via their email address, and the free tier is limited to 5 editors.
  3. I can’t set defaults for the views so there would be a learning curve to be useful to people
  4. The data export available to me is limited to csv files with url links that expire in a couple of hours so I can’t even make the data generally available to others to import into their own Airtable accounts.

The paid tiers are obviously far more functional, but the free tier is very limited and designed for personal use.

If there are any Airtable experts here that can show me a way to do this, let me know.

Does ESSENCE: Total War contain the emotional distancing of E:AoW?

I hate to be that guy, but would a custom like this make sense for pure innovation and disruption, eith focus of being social for knoing people to help in my endeavours?

@Fire or @SaintSovereign (sorry, not sure who developed this one!)

To what extent does ‘Essence: For the Love of Gold’ cover (or exceed!) the content of the two modules ‘Roots of Scarcity’ and ‘The Worthiness Recalibration’?

dont be mean, its close enough hahha

Yeah, makes sense. I think I might be slightly confused, or rather have/had a completley wrong conception of Major titles vs cores vs modules.

Having the whole Essence of a Major fitting into 1.5-3 + modules just blows my mind. Kinda makes me rethink the size of modules, I always imagined a Major having the length of idk, 15 - 20 modules+ , even without the general supporting scripting. That’s why I also always pushed 20 modules after having narrowed down a 15-17 module custom, because why not, what’s another few modules.

To exaggerate a bit, I basically thought the smaller modules were ‘just a few lines of script’.

It’s interesting how even as a long term user and daily lurker, there’s still so much we, as the users, don’t really understand or can’t grasp.

@SaintSovereign would It be possible to get a list of features that are touched upon with Essence?
With the Daddy Essences is pretty obvious, but with the EoG essence covering all 4 stages it’s to much of a guessing game if I could get the feature I’d like to have (in it’s essential form).
Or did you cover all features in their distilled form in Love of Gold?

On the contrary, take this as a ‘thank you’.

In less than a second, a one-millimeter-to-the-left tap of your finger gave us much-needed laughter.

And it’s slightly ridiculous how much I’m laughing at that pun.

As per your instruction to keep asking questions when confused, here’s one more, sorry!

I think I understand how cores and modules (and Synergy modules) all work.
I’m getting my head around the new Essences as well

However, whilst I get the general purpose of NSE (and all its variants) as a concept, I struggle a bit in terms of how an NSE core would affect a Custom build, particularly in terms of how dense/loaded it is?
How do NSE cores compare with regular Title cores in terms of density/energy requirements?
Is it 100% the case that they should just be treated as any other Title core (e.g. Emperor core) in terms of how many cores in a custom?

And as a bonus question, to elucidate further, take this example of a custom build, focused on Physical Shifting and the sleep and energy requirements to optimally support that:

BDLM Core
Paragon Sleep Core
New Physical Shifting Experience Core

Preordained Vitality
Asclepius
Serum X
Deep Sleep
SPS: Fat Burn
Synergy: Energetic Transcendence

Now from what I understand, 2 Cores is the generally recommended limit, possibly 3.
But in this build, would 3 be considered excessive (especially for someone new to customs) even though it would seem the focus/synergy of the 3 is pretty tight?

NB: I have no idea how dense/demanding Paragon: Sleep is, for the record?
And does it overall count as an ‘energy drainer’ or an ‘energy adder’?
Like it can improve quality/duration of sleep, which should add energy, but perhaps it first drains energy whilst it shifts/re-trains you into consistent deeper sleep?

I have almost never been able to make customs work well lol. Going to try and stick to 1 core and just enhance it with modules to see how it goes.

Which modules do you think would round out the executive?

I can 2 cores well, but I’m concerned about 3. I was thinking of a Khan Stage 1/LOTs and then full of executive modules, the essence of executive, to create a high-functioning, healing, and fitness sub.

Khan Stage 1 improves the performance of every other sub in my stack when not in recon on it.
