Since nutrients is much more than just minerals, I’d make a wild guess and say yes.
Your brain is mostly fat and water. So it needs the right fats to function properly.
If you take a look at the standard American diet, you’ll see that there are next to no healthy fats.
Mostly seed oils like canola or cotton seed oil.
Can your brain grow, adapt and regenerate on this? No (of course it does it’s best,
but it's like repairing an autobody with bricks.
You can do it, might even look good, but it’s not even close from a proper repair)
We evolved eating meat and fruit. Later vegetables and grains. But for millenia, our fat came from animals, later olives (mostly).
So having proper fatty acids is essential for brain function, so having them is probably also essential for proper use of subs.
