I’m a fairly new member so take my advice with a grain of salt. But here’s a way for you to look at things. Whatever subs you’re running, think of it as a long term play, stick to a set for at least 4 to 6 months without switching. This will give you a tremendous amount of acclimation and growth.
When you look at it from a long game stand point, while consistency is key, it’s also OK for you to space things out as life happens or you get sick. Even when you’re not listening, you are still listening as the sub is still processing in the background of your mind. And taking some of those breaks will probably help the sub to breathe anyway.
Also, if you cling to the subs with a sense of desperation, you’re putting yourself in a less than ideal position. The best way to use any sub is to run it and then go about your day and take action on what you want. The more you do that, the easier it becomes for you to often reinforce the goals of the sub without consciously getting in the way of them, until one fine day, when you wake up and realize the transformation that has occurred in your life.
Oh, and contrary to the above statement, when you do see progress, no matter how minute it may seem, you should recognize that as well, because it reinforces to your conscious mind the effects of the sub. As they say, success begets success.
But again, other senior members in the forum can probably provide you with much more concrete advice.
