Microloops, Recon , & The Sweet Spot

OK I’m requesting clarification on what constitutes recon and how someone knows they have hit their sweet spot. It may seem like an obvious answer and I know everyone is different. I’m just looking for examples of both.

The sweet spot is whatever you want it to be.

Half a year ago my sweet spot was anything that doesn’t make me go bedridden from recon.

Nowadays, my sweet spot is as little recon as possible. I even shorten my cycle to only around 13 days.

I’d say for me if i set goals or things to do, as long as the sub is allowing me to keep the belief going that i can do it and I don’t question myself too much or over analyze anything I’d say that’s a sweet spot and its probably not even going to be noticeable

Recon is when I question everything and anything I do and wonder if I can even continue. Usually in the form of moodiness or apathy at times. When it passes I feel more motivation and drive.

The less recon the more my loops are hitting close to the sweet spot

For me recon comes in a few forms

  • irritability and moodiness (on titles like Emperor)

  • headaches

  • bad sleep

  • heat flashes (KB3)

  • feeling like a truck hit me when I wake up (KB)

  • the desire to change my stack

  • the feeling that subs don’t do anything

  • doubting my abilities to reach my goals

  • doubting that I can change anything

Finding my sweetspot is a very intuitive process for me. I tell my subconscious to alert me before it gets to much input. Usually I feel it in time and stop the sub. I rarely get recon. Mostly when I overdo it for experimentation. Like when I write in journal I’m going with a boom into my washout.
Like on Thursday when I started Primal with 10ish minutes. I got Headache on Saturday.

Thinking about it, I don’t know if these bodily manifestations like heat flashes and feeling like being hit by a truck are actually recon symptoms or rather symptoms of my body restructuring my energetic system.

Last year I didn’t care if I get recon or not, just full loops al the time and then going trough hell for a couple of hours every 3-5day.

This year I am doing 1 min loops and it’s so refreshing to actually execute the script the same day and recon is gone in 1-10 min, also the intensity of recon is laughable

So I found the sweet spot for me

You run nothing but one minute loops? Always?

Jup since this year I dropped gradually.

3 months ago it was 5 min loops
2 months ago 3 min loops
And since a month only 1-1,5 min loops

Less is more as it seems

Minute to minute and a half?

Seems like it

Used to do 7mins loops but my sweet spot ended up being 3mins. For store titles and customs.

Recon for me can be brain fog, moodiness, lack of confidence, basically a lot of the worst part of me comes out. As I catch it and try to figure out how to handle those moments better, eating a big meal, working out, or a nice shower helps.

A sweet spot for me is just a good balance of recon and results. 3 mins I can process through recon quicker and start getting results on the same day.

They’re the same thing to me.

Yes

1 min for a normal sub
1,5 min for a 3 core custom

This… ^

There are phases of my life where I want to be as productive as possible, and my recon tolerance is to a 3/10, maximum. This is usually when I listen to 30s on the weekdays and 3 mins on the friday night, to process all weekend, and be fresh and recon-free again for work the next monday.

Then there are other phases in my life, like now, where work takes a back burner, and my only concern with recon is making sure that after an extreme or intense emotion, i give myself time to journal on it.

Then there are users like Hoppa who can’t feel the subs, whether it’s results or recon at all, and can only gauge his sweet spot by journaling on his results and actions in hindsight.

How I found my sweet spot was by starting at 3 minute loops and getting a sense of the effects of those, for quite a while. And I was getting the exact results that I wanted, so I had no interest in increasing my exposure. Then I tried decreasing my exposure to the point where I started noticing diminshing results.

I like 3 min loops 2-3x per week, with the occasional 30s microloop of 30s throw in, but I could probably get just as good results with one 3 min loop a week, so long as i microloop @30s twice that week as well

Similar approach here, I typically do 3 minutes as I like to be productive throughout the week, and then as I get more comfortable with a sub after it’s been in my stack for a couple months I move it up to 5. Rarely go much beyond 5 unless I have some time off work.

Starting always from the beginning, or pick you up there you where the last time?

Just experienced another form of recon.

Fear of falling my life.

Or at least getting in serious trouble at work for something that might not be totally in line with how we’re supposed to work.

It was a strange feeling. But honestly, right now I don’t care, with better jobs at hand.

I’m so glad I read this, as recon is still stewing heavily on my 4th washout day. It’s made me question almost everything I’m doing. I even called out of work today since trying to put my mask on was unbearable.

And to hear people who have been here a while saying they’ve decreased listening times.

Thank you! All who’ve admitted “too much is too much” and changed listening times.

Truth: I’ve been thinking I was weak if I admitted 5 minute loops were becoming too much.

…but changing seems simple compared to putting life on hold to ride out recon.

Thanks for opening this thread @James. It helped.

I am still new to 1 min loops so I observe first.

Next month I try to proceed from my last listening point and see how that goes. For now I just lisen to the first min and i still got recon. Once recon free I will proceed
