Media influence on the subconscious

That’s a profound statement, lol.

Pretty much just ends the discussion.

Amen.

Personal context is really everything. Evoked “bad” emotions are often cathartic and can be IMO very important for mental cleansing.

If you really want to find the answer about if music is a good influence or bad then you should think outside of the box. Who owns the mainstream music industry? And what do these people want to achieve? You think these rappers are creating “art” by themselves or are they being told what to say in their songs? Why do you think they push this gangster narrative, is that a coincidence? Just something to think about

I try not to speculate on stuff like that. I don’t have connections in the industry or run in those circles so I can’t verify. I don’t think there’s a grand overarching vision for this stuff. I think it’s just what sells and they know how to market.

Just because you don’t know, it doesn’t mean nothing is going on

I could say the same for your statement though. What makes you think there is something going on?

Personal research + common logic

Yeah but where are you getting your info from?

It’s essential to acknowledge that in any industry, including the music industry, there can be a mix of intentions and motivations among those involved.

While some may believe there are hidden agendas or ulterior motives at play, which is possible, it’s also essential to remember that not everyone within these industries operates with the same intentions. It’s a diverse landscape, and there can be artists and creators who genuinely aim to express themselves through their music.

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that while speculations and theories can emerge, getting too caught up in them may not always be healthy for one’s well-being.

I think I know what you’re referring to and once you see it, you naturally just turn off the TV, radio and “news” and never look back.

You all can make as many excuses as you like, but as someone who studies the subconscious mind in-depth, it’s my opinion that one should strongly consider your “mental diet” over any other notions.

Imo it’s the easiest and most powerful change most could make to make their life better.

Turn of all news.

And be cautious what music you listen to.

I think balance is important. Calling it a mental diet is interesting because I’ve seen these concepts mirror eating disorders. Where everything is so tightly restricted it’s an attempt to control vs exercising free will and responsibility. I think it depends on the individual a lot.

I thought I had it all figured out until I talked to a man who said that death metal (extremely negative lyrics) saved their life when they were at a suicidal point in their life.

If he didn’t have access to this type of music which helped him get through some shit, he would probably no longer be on this earth.

My “know it all” complex of understanding subconscious influence, negative programming and so on… didn’t know how to respond to such a visceral, heartfelt and honest discussion with this man on how a genre of music that I often labeled as “garbage”, “full of negativity” and of a “low wavelength” literally saved his life.

I was missing some pieces to the puzzle… but luckily I have them now. Lol.

Interesting, mind sharing your thoughts on these questions? I think of many reasons.

Spiritually, if you’re into that stuff, they want you to lose touch with that. Attachment to money, cars, clothes and sex. Spending money I guess too on those things or for those things, thinking that’s all that matters. They want to make more money I guess too.

Not sure, just some thoughts.
