I actually support this idea for ultrasonic, just to confirm that there is sound playing, because sometimes ill get paranoid and have to check whether or not the subliminal is actually playing
Support this, sounds like a great idea.
I have never played the wrong sub. And it seems that this is a very very very rare occurence.
People just need to properly watch their playlist / track setup / etc. and be attentive about what they listen to. People should be adult enough to click on the right mp3 file…
I do not like the idea of adding the spoken name of the track at the beginning.
I would find it very distracting if the water sound would be interuppted by someone saying something, especially when I listen to several titles in a row.
Also this:
I would like for Saint and Fire rather focus on new titles and upgrading existing titles than wasting their time on this (supposedly) very minor inconvience.
I’d prefer that you not implement this. It’s completely unnecessary.
As others have stated, this would disturb my meditation during the stack.
So a clear no from my side.
A couple of times, I happened to tip on my touch controlled headphones and changed track without noticing. So a name in front of the track would have helped.
Also my fiancee uses the Spotify App to listen to subs (don’t ask me why). And it happened a couple of times (don’t asked me how) that suddenly the quiet and chill music went absolutely quiet. Without us noticing. I mean, it was already rather quiet and we were in an important conversation, so we didn’t notice. Only later to find out that we’ve listened to 12 minutes of DRLD ultrasonic.
And it happened two times more later on.
It wasn’t recon city, but it’s nothing I need.
That would IMO beat the purpose for customs if the key issue is instant clarity what one is listening to.
Had the same problem in the past. Copying the module list into the metadata of the MP3 (under Notes) fixed it. Very helpful, especially if someone’s tinkering a lot with customs.
It would make more sense for ultrasonic. As you could use the intro for volume adjustment and you could give a short ending announcement.
Same for me. I normally listen to 2 subs in a row while meditating. Talking in the middle would throw me off.
Regarding customs, it could be interesting as a feature for QTKS, especially if not an order number is quoted but something like “I am listening now to [My Own Custom Name].” is said in your own voice. Not sure about the uncanny valley effect though.
Poll for this:
Add a line at the first 10 seconds before the sub starts playing. “You Are Now Playing [Title]” *Silence until the 10 second point. *Plays the sub.
- Yes
- No

You can’t edit the file unless you have the uncompressed source material. You’ll damage the contents when it’s re-encoded.
How sure are you about this?
I always thought of edits like these as a simple split of the file not affecting the audio in any other way than intended.
MP3 is lossy. It’s basically the end stage product, any further modification damages the source material. You can’t edit an MP3 without it degrading the quality. How that effects the subs I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure this is why it’s mentioned not to touch the audio because you’re effecting the integrity of the file itself.
Decoding and encoding the mp3 will degrade it, however you can join or split mp3 files without decoding, e.g. using mp3 Direct Cut. I don’t like modifying the files either way (apart from meta-data), but I’ll likely use this to remove the message if they add it.
I stand corrected. Still without knowing what else goes into this audio I wouldn’t put my faith in a tool like that.
Like many here I meditate while listening to subs, so the message would ruin the experience. So I’ll take the risk.
So Perhaps an additional Download Section?
One regular that offers the subs as they are now and one with the Intro?
And perhaps an option in the custom build form to add a name for the Custom?
Need a poll option for “Hell MF No”
That would mean a lot more customized coding I think.
Not to mention slightly more than doubling the storage space required to store these on the company servers.
Can we have a poll about no more polls?
Adding a single line to a few dozen pages of text?
Is it that much?
I have literally no clue about servers, download infrastructure etc.
Would that mean so much extra costs?
Customs are only short time available and majors are perhaps 30 GB of storage.
But as I said, I have literally no clue about this stuff.
If you have 2 files (one with the audio intro and one without) yeah.
It would require custom coding a whole second downloads page. Way more than just one extra long of text.
