Main Opinion Thread - Title name spoken at the start of the track

Yes I’d love that and same for the customs at least by listing the cores so I know which one it is because all my customs are usually named the same and I get paranoid lololol since I literally can’t check I have to go back to my profile and download it again or check the date on my Mac when it was made or such but man I wouldn’t be surprised if I listened to something without knowing it for months in the past.

Edit : I read the thread posts and no if the custom was just some serial number that would be useless for me so no need. At that point I can just go and redownload it. Id only like to have cores told to me so unless that would be an option I would not propose for anything else. Even the main titles have the names of the titles already as title of the file so really it’s just customs are a bit tricky since I don’t recall numbers or anything.

Now just think if you didn’t have to check 10 times

If you play the wrong track…oh well! You’ll play the correct one next time! We’ve all done that!
If you consistently play the wrong track, the issue is not the tracks.

I only have the tracks im going to listen to downloaded on my phone

My suggestion.

Have one file as requested, with the track with the title name.

Have another one as it is now, with the standard mask.

Add a track to the zip file that’s an “intro”

That way people who make playlists (what everyone should be doing) can put the ZP warning, then the intro file, then the sub

I make playlists even if I’m only listening to a solo sub stack like now, because I like the ZP warning as an “opener”

I’ve bee running subs for eight years now and running the wrong track happened to me thrice maybe.

Another thing is, 10 seconds would be 40 seconds a day for me. 280 second a week and so on. Let’s value our own time. On the other hand, I could always cut it out, using an audio editor.

I don’t think I would need this feature. Near the end of the track the volume fades. Plus I check my playlist.

I also have experienced times when my iPhone plays a sub randomly. Either my car will start playing it cause the Bluetooth kicks on automatically, or when putting in my air pods.

Despite that, I still wouldn’t want this feature. What I do now is, after listening to the subs, I deliberately play a random song for a second and close the app. That way, if the player does play something randomly it plays that song I selected for a second.

What you could do is create a title intro in your phone’s voice recorder and add it to your playlist before the sub. Problem solved without reinventing the Subclub wheel.

Not needed for me.

Love this. Even a bit of Pavlovian conditioning around expecting subconsciously a certain state change or subconscious shift when hearing the tittle name - could make microlooping more effective

A big nope from me, especially for customs.

This would likely annoy me enough I’d end up clipping the damn thing off the audio file.

Good suggestion

The main concern with this approach is for those of us who use full loops while meditating.
The intro could be intrusive when the second sub plays.
Other than that, it’s a matter of preference.

Think of it as an extra insurance. In the rare case double checking the filename failed you.
You spend a small fee (5-10s) to avoid wasting time dealing with the aftermath of playing the wrong sub. Overexposure, recon, changing plans, refocusing the effects, forced to take extra rest days or early/extended washouts. Just one bad case of these can waste more time than what you’d spend listening to the intro over a lifetime.

This is what I do too now. An extra insurance in case the sub accidentally plays again.

I won’t overstate its usefulness though.
Even if you accidentally listen to a full loop of a hard sub when you’re not ready, it won’t matter in the long run. It’s mostly a matter of preference.

Another suggestion I may add is to make an “extra” folder in the zip.
There we can add alternative files with all the measures that we’ve been brainstorming for in the forum.
An intro, a ping every 1 3 5 … minutes etc.
So people who want to have these options can have them too.

Just the management of tracks will do. There is already a warning music track, we can put the title there instead and/or insert another track for a 5-10 minutes space between the titles.

This is a great idea. It may be rare for people to report it, but it’s happened to me hundreds of times.

So… this is a great conversation for the ~100 or so users that are super active forum users, but, what about the 1000’s who do not use the forum and don’t have these kinds of tips and tricks.

A system that is designed to be “good enough, read the forum for the remaining instructions” will NEVER Be good enough.

The forum algorithm itself (algorithm as in decision making about what shows up on the “home feed”) prioritizes NEW posts, not valuable posts, not even relevant posts.

it doesn’t even prioritize posts, it prioritizes THREADS, which means that as a new user, I have no idea to look into random people’s journals or hype threads or saint v fire threads to get updates and tips on products. I just look at… what… the title i’m curious about? if that? I probably just open up a beginner thread, ask a crappy Q, and get the instruction manuals (which saint and fire imply are outdated but not a priority to fix… because they think suggesting microlooping on the forum is enough) regurgitated back to them.

Imagine a day 1 user who has no access to the forum and ask the question what is better for THAT person.

The problem with “user feedback” from the forum is that even the “beginners” of the forum are 10x more experienced and educated than the average non-forum user. or the average user who has read less than 5-10 threads in full (no easy feat, ESPECIALLY for someone with a slow reading speed or lower than fluent comprehension - the writings of most subliminal afficianados, including saint, who has an MFA in writing, is HIGHLY technical, subtle, nuanced, with concepts needing slight deciphering in a way that resembles beginner spiritual texts - not for someone who is ESL.)

So. For that audience. This will help.

Always the best choice: Option to have it and not have it?

I think it could be cool with a badass voice and a sound effect.

Emperor- with that movie sound of steel

In a hot female voice: Wanted Black: Seduce Reality

Khan- in a dragon voice- Sound of burning villages in the background. (jk)

This seems like an after-every-sub updated and amazing new subs come out project, though

I think the trick would be in the execution.

I’ve never needed this in these last 5 years with Sub Club, but I can see how an unobtrusive, tasteful, minimalist audio label could work.

Rather than saying ‘you are now listening to Quantum Limitless’. I’d prefer a very low voice just saying ‘Quantum Limitless’. With the mask. So just overlaid on the first 2 seconds of the sub. With customs, it could be an optional audio watermark for a small additional fee.

Like that. Maybe at a lower volume.
