The New RM is definitely going to need some type of emotional regulation :100:

Good lord I almost started crying out of nowhere

Could the New RM have much more Wealth included? Wealth from Arts.
Since those who want more specialization on arts mastering already have Renaissance Writer, Artist, Vibe…
@SaintSovereign

Those titles include wealth from the arts.
Plus, using RM just to get wealth from the arts is ineffective. It’s better to use wealth specialized titles.

Self expression and self belief pushed to the Max. Like Renaissance Black.

Agreed. A bit GLM would be great.

Not giving a f*** what the rest of the world thinks about one and one’s art, just taking an individual path would be a good aspect.

Omg just read this and realized a non-industry specific version of THIS idea is EXACTLYYYYYUY what I’ve wanted RM to be so that I can “create” powerfully in the world but not necessarily with art/beauty.

@SaintSovereign what current sub has the most of this scripting? To create? Maybe Beyond Limitless? Or would it be something else???

Beyond Limitless was definitely the first thing that came to mind. There’s a lot of this scripting there. Nouveau R.I.C.H. has a lot of innovation scripting as well.

Hmm

I just had the idea that a legacy building module would greatly increase the long term impact of Renaissance Man.

What do you guys think? :thought_balloon:

It’d be cool if there were fame scripting included similar to Stark Black. Maybe a fame/no fame version like that too for the people that want to focus on their artistry and not necessarily about becoming famous.

Scripting from Beyond Limitless for the mind cinema and theater and the Revelation series for deep self exploration. I think some wealth would be nice too, if someone’s spending so much time developing their craft, there’s likely some value there that can be recognized and embodied through wealth.

RAIKOV and bits of Polyglot might be good too, for understanding how your art “speaks” to other people on a deep level, in addition to just being able to communicate and express your creation.

Expanding on this to add that I think some of the childlike awe and wonder scripting from Beyond Limitless would fit. Art inspirations that arrive sideways, or possessing the ability to capture an otherwise uncapturable feeling or meaning into one’s art. Very much “I’m a receiver to the universe” type of feeling.

An unfolding experience for art creation as well. With each new piece you create, you begin to learn yourself on a more deep and profound level. Since your art is a reflection of yourself, it’s only natural that anything you make can also reveal some aspect that you weren’t conscious of before.

Authenticity in self-expression from WDB could be useful as well. The Artist’s Dream Current or something, being able to go off into your own world as you create. And letting your life become its own artistic self-expression.

Adaptive scripting to help you identify everyday feelings and meanings as inspiration. Anti-recon adapted to trace down the source of a particular emotion and have the choice to emphasize or express it in your work.

I think that’s it for now.

I’ve always prided myself in being a renaissance man, and yet I never found myself running this title ever before. I’ve never been sure of the direction of the title, but I truly believe it should be a jam-packed dense title on the levels of Stark and Emperor.

The renaissance era was a rebirth of classical ideals that formed the backbone of western civilization and thought prior to the advent of Christianity. Socializing, debate, lecture, writing, contemplation were crucial to the daily lives of Greeks so elements of communicative skill and intellect have to be components of RM.

The intellectual component needs to be much more rooted in the abstract versus the concrete. The renaissance man is HUNGRY for knowledge, of the old and the new and it doesn’t matter if it brings “monetary value” or if it’s even objectively correct, it just needs to make sense. The title shouldn’t be about raw computational brain power, it should be about the ability to connect the dots, draw the lines and create the systems that underpin and intertwine every and anything we can think of.

Speaking of which, this is where polymathy comes into play because the renaissance man IS a polymath. Da Vinci was a master scientist, artist, engineer and he was far from being the only one. Michelangelo was a poet, a sculptor who then went and painted what many consider the most ambitious project ever in the Sistine chapel.

One of the most interesting parts about this piece, The Last Judgement, is how Michelangelo was able to translate his appreciation for muscularity into the painting medium as well. Everyone in this painting is yoked to the fucking tits and don’t even get me started on mother Mary.

How can the RM title NOT have physical shifting, when the Athenians trained in the gymnasium every day, when their rebirth movement repeatedly celebrated physical aesthetics? We cannot mistake the modern day renaissance man with the modern day “performative males” you’ll find in your local university’s Liberal Arts college. The Renaissance Man of today HAS to be jacked.

A final key element that I believe is crucial for this title to be worthy of its name, is something I don’t really see discussed here; the renaissance man cannot be like the rest of us, immersed in “technology” while racing from one dopamine hit to the next. There should absolutely be scripting that promotes a pre-post modernity lifestyle, where screens are shunned for books, social media profiles are replaced with a natural aura of status, meditation supersedes gaming and the appreciation of the world becomes the ultimate goal in life.

I want a title that echoes a walk through the streets of Barcelona, observing the beautiful old architecture of the Gothic Quarter, appreciating the gleam of the sun and the fresh Mediterranean air, before retreating to the counter at a bar with a pen and diary, sipping a freshly made espresso in between museum visits, with Recuerdos de la Alhambra echoing in the background.

THAT’S Renaissance Man.
