Main Idea Thread - Quintessence Pro (Potential Service)

I have yet to reach 1K posts and am probably still a Junior Alchemist. There should be another option for those who have been here long yet dont post often to qualify

I agree with the above post, maybe read time should be taken into consideration too

Too bad… you’re out of luck here LUL… nah I agree, we all remember one guy who treated the forum like it was a twitch chat with only short expressions and spamming like crazy, and he reached the highest rank in a month or two.

Yeah…

If post count is what matters, it’s going to ruin the forum. One or two users like that is easy to handle, but what about 50 at the same time? Or more?

…people who responds to several messages in separate posts and not quoting them in the the same message… :joy:

Very much agree with this:

Love the idea of Q Pro. A couple of thoughts/ideas:

  • Name embedding (as linked)
  • Stuff from the vault (like Khan Black 2, maybe with a higher price and/or less copy/layout/explanation. If the script is already finished, it can be IMO sensible to publish without much bells and whistles to Q Pros as they should know what they are doing.)
  • Great for experimental modules, builds, masks with the clear starting point of not much support, elaborate copy, polished product. Like very early access.
  • Early input on modules (especially Synergys) would be great.

Commissioning of new modules/cores/subs, crowdfunding

Love the ideas by @bujin and others going in this direction. I’ve no idea how budgeting works for a module, but IMO crowdfunding would be a great option on several levels. (The money wouldn’t be the most important aspect.)

  • Distinguishing between tribal and personal (willing to buy) support for a product: There is a clear distinction between subs/modules one likes conceptually, which broadly fall into the fields one is here for, which feel right for one’s “tribe” (for me: pretty much every art sub) and the ones we actually want to use and invest in. ( ← more important factor. I’ve a lot of warm and fuzzy feelings for UA… and will probably never use it, because there is no space left in the stack.) Crowdfunding new modules/sub would be a good indication for the latter.
  • It could be an interesting addition to the roadmap: Stuff one likes and stuff one commits to pay for. (thinking about it, maybe it doesn’t have to be restricted to Q Pro, at least not the final kickstarter.)
  • cost sharing for commissioning would be nice. (Crowdfunding should be basic: just pay what it will cost in advance and that’s it. Perks IMO wouldn’t make sense.)

What I rather dislike are the ideas of perks and goodies meant as treats for Q Pros.

E. g. a service with personal consultation on a custom: I don‘t see a good reason why it should be limited to Q Pros. Quite the contrary – First time custom builders would need it way more urgently than veterans who probably understand better which module effects them how than another person ever could. Same goes for special teasers, fluff and more access to @Fire and @SaintSovereign. This could quickly smell like an in-crowd, which would IMO go against the spirit of SC.

Maybe add an option where the mods can give a thumbs up if the person is providing great value to the community. Sometimes good quality posts are more worth than tens or hundreds of short posts and will also convince more people than superficial posts.

Or setup something connected to the Like system… Don’t tell anyone, but members who are valued contribute with their likes. If someone gets lots of likes in the backend system from these valued members, it shows that the person is a good candidate for the “Pro”.

Us users don’t even have to be aware of the system. In fact, I think it would be better if we didn’t know.
Less chance of gaming the system.

Got another idea. I know qtks we can use our own voice but it’s an investment I’m not fully willing to commit to due to my own stumbling with execution of regular customs. But could we maybe have an option for choosing the voice model that’s used on regular builds? Everyone is so different and something as simple as inflection or tone in a voice can make a huge difference to receptiveness subconsciously I think. Not sure how much you’ve explored that already, I’m shooting in the dark here without knowing the full extent of your research on the backend lol.

My first question is: what is your intention?

Is it to pamper a certain group of qualified buyers?

Then most of the ideas above are fitting.

Or is it to give those qualified buyers tools that need more experience, that only those qualified have?

Then many of the ideas above are out, because they would help anyone, regardless of his experience with subs.

If it is the case, that you want to create a laboratory for inner alchemy for those with more experience with your products, I would wish for certain possibilities like

  • more slots for more modules
20 is a lot, especially with Synergy modules. But my second custom contains 20 modules with 2 cores, 1 NSE core, 7 Synergy Modules and 10 regular modules. I feel a lot of them working after just 10 listening days, and I never experienced any recon.
I also know, that more modules means more time to see the effects of individual modules, but it would offer the possibility to amend a custom once a while with one or two newly released modules instead of replacing old one. That would also make it easier to keep modules in your custom for a longer period and so get easier accustomed to it.

  • an option to create a variation of an existing custom for a reduced price
Let’s say I want to replace a module in a custom. Right now I have to pay 130$ for a rebuild (if it has solace).
So if you could integrate an option for Variation Rebuild that offers to change 3 modules of an existing Custom, and offer that for something like 80$ that would be a great feature.

  • Access to some Sam/ Vana or 42 style modules you keep locked away would be nice

For the modalities how to choose whom to give access, perhaps additionally to the number of posts, add a rate of posts to likes.
Or you use an AI to examine posts and add an internal feature called quality posts to every account.
An additional possibility could be a nomination by either two embassadors or a certain number of qualified buyers.

I like this idea

I often want to iterate on my current custom, but refrain from doing so because I don’t want to pay the full freight just to swap out a couple of modules

Maybe open it up to swapping up to 5 modules for a lower price?

Would love this option and probably tinker and rebuild with a little variation more than I already do.

@Prioritas We posted close to the same second with the same quote… great minds and all that.

It’s probably a question of degree. 5 modules are a lot and would feel in many cases like a completely different custom, especially with low module count overall. For tinkering it makes IMO sense to change gradually, maybe 2-3 modules at once, to discern tangible differences for each module.

Thank you

Much appreciated

Agreed

maybe make it a percentage of the total modules?

So 25% would be 5 modules for a 20 module custom, but only 3 max on a 10 module custom

I haven’t read the entire thread yet so please excuse me if this was already addressed but with this include name and voice imbedded major titles?

These are general plans, not just for qualified buyers.

Ah OK. I’m technically an Arch Alchemist so

@SaintSovereign how do I get my ranking changed? Are the posts only in one’s journal or overall on the forum?

There to can find them. They are counted all over the forum.
To get your ranking changed, just open a ticket, tell them your forum name, your post count and your store email (for the discount) and youll have it in 3-5 business days
