The book ‘Outlive’ by Dr. Peter Attia explores the four main horsemen of modern late-life illness (heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and neurogenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s) and how to combat and ideally prevent them.
They all are linked to poor metabolic health: e.g. unbalanced diets, overeating, excess glucose, not letting our digestive systems rest, etc.
When our insulin response is sensitive/healthy, our bodies produce less inflammation, have less harmful fat accumulation around vital organs, balance hormones, and allow all functions to operate optimally.
