This has always been true in my experience of Emperor, one of the most stackable foundational Alpha titles.
The only price you pay, is that Emperor is a little less social and playful and it really prefers if you get your butt in gear, laziness induced recon is a thing on both versions.

RotNW has a lot playfulness in it which really suprised me
@Layman you might find it gets balanced out with Wanted. That’s a very playful title too
IMO, Emperor is perfectly playful, it’s just most people that try it, aren’t yet aware of how much time they waste everyday, so many people experience being
“Anti-social” on it, because they are literally being driven to stop wasting time on pointless things.
When I was last on Emperor, 2 years ago, it challenged the hell out of my YouTube habit and I was drawn to, ironically, play video games instead.
Because video games are a much better use of time than mindlessly listening to Warhammer 40k videos lol.
lol, I watched a few Warhammer 40k videos recently for the first time (mainly ‘tv series’ type ones).
But I’ve avoided going down a rabbit hole of spending excessive time on watching media, so that’s good.
Really appreciate all the quick feedback from you and others regarding combining Wanted with Emperor!
Probably going to run some more foundational subs in a custom first, then try this combo after that 
Emperor is op, I was very social on it. But I was also annoyed by wasteful conversations in the wrong time. Like people lacking ownership and ambition at work and just want to talk shit for hours.
Need to try it with wanted. I believe like you said it’s a good match. The busy emperor is mysterious. What is he up to?
I’ve had the opposite effect with GLM/Dream Boy. I game so little that I can go entire weeks without turning on my pc or TV. Yet I listen to more youube content cause I can easily stack that with chores.
