This thing is awesome. I’ve been learning this song on Acoustic guitar and vocals for a performance next week, the song is filled with barred chords and some high notes; both of which are still technically advanced for me. With the performance coming up soon, I could feel the nerves coming up for a while, which only makes it more difficult to learn.
After Raikov; I had the best training sessions in the past 3 weeks. I actually managed to play it really well and with ease and with minimal mistakes. I actually feel ready and turns out I already had it covered but the nerves made it seem far fetched.
I haven’t had such a smooth chord transitions ever, and these are no simple chords for me; I’m talking about chords such as C#m7 F#Sus4 F# F#m B7 C#7 Dmaj7. Basically almost non of the normal chords. All while having to sing, keep up the rhythm, a steady strumming pattern that changes completely after second chorus and switch chords at exact moments with specific words of the lyrics.
I’ve also had the greatest training sessions ever; where I trained in blocks of 20 minutes then short break, then back, and repeat. I am also motivated, focused and inspired to continue. I didn’t even succumb to distractions as usual.
There was this moment during the first 10 minutes where I felt a complete shift from being nervous and unsure to I got this easy. After which, playing became smoother and more confident.
Finally, while playing, the image of one of my favorite guitarist came to mind, even though what he plays is so far out of reach for me right how and a completely different play style; but the scene that played was one where he was street performing, full of feelings and calmness amid a big crowd. That’s what I must’ve Raikoved.
