So after some further review of Energetic Ascent, I can confirm there are some sexual techniques (both dual and solo) included in the book, although there is the caveat pointed out of why such techniques are referred to as the corrosive waters.
What surprised and delighted me however was Exercises 18 and 19 in the book related to light, essentially distills the core of what was called by Dr Francis Lefebure “Phosphenism”, which was a technique of supernatural development pioneered back in the 1940s and were based on the old Zoroastrian fire gazing practices. The idea is to gaze at a bright light for a short period of time, and then close your eyes and concentrate with full attention/awareness on the phosphenes or residual trace until it disappears. During the process of concentration, a special type of sensation develops and gradually performing this exercise over the course of time begins to develop certain effects in ones consciousness. In Lefebures version, the difference was the cerebral coherence would often be combined with other thoughts in order to create a thought form or mental energy that could then be used for other purposes (he called it phosphenic mixing). In the exercises mentioned above however, the goal is to gradually develop coherence of the mind.
I do think these types of exercises (as well as the pure presencing) can help to centralise or cohere the developing vital force and assist someone trying to use the energy in retaining control.
