LOTS vs EmpFit St 4 -Bodybuilding?

I’m looking for some guidance on best path for Bodybuilding. I’m targeting a competition a little less than 12 months out. I have a female friend from my gym who just competed in the 2023 version of this local competition and I am inspired to try it myself, as a 50-plus, Male entrant and a novice entrant (never competed before). I have a looooooong way to go to be ready, not from a calendar standpoint, but from a body morphing standpoint.

So my question is whether LOTS or EF St 4 are best? Or cycle both? Or is there something even better than that for this subject?

And then should I cycle in Beast Within/Beast Unleashed? And if so, how?

I’m also open to any mundane guidance. Meaning what are good resources to start with in setting up a bodybuilding program? I’m certified to personal train but there was nothing in my certification related to body-building. More related to functional, every day fitness for older, or perhaps sedentary clientele.

Thank you in advance for your advice.

First off love the initiative to prove age is just a number! Wish you success.

Im in fitness as well and can share my observations with them:

Emperor fitness stage 3,4 - gave me the thickest, bulkiest look and seemed to help put on the most amount of muscle. I also felt noticeably stronger in the gym.

LotS - gave also a thick look but more of a leaner , athletic look since it has some fat burning too.

Wanted - lean model look, everything flowed really well. Not too bulky.

I’d say for your purposes you’re trying to put on as much mm as possible, so I’d give stage 3 ef a run during your bulk. And switch to stage 2 during your cut. You can also run stage 4 for a Swiss army approach

I may consider a QTKS custom within the next 3-6 months, once Saint/Fire open up the new process.

Quite heavy, good luck.

I agree, it is heavy. Thank you for wishing me luck.

I am old school, just have two cores in my QTKS. LOS + Paragon.

You are wise. My hubris has me thinking due to my past experience that I can handle more. It will sound like an oxymoron, but I believe I know my energy system well, and can and do backoff when overloaded.

For example, I don’t generally listen to any of my customs as frequently as the recommendations allow for. Sometimes only 2-3x a week, rather than 2x every other day.

Trying to improve many areas at once.

My only take is aesclepius might be a better option over paragon, as it’s lighter

Definitely considered that. But it’s ordered so we shall have to wait and see.

Personally I found it hard to stay on my diet on paragon. It also made me really tired. I’d say it’s better for overall healing over fitness related

Yea no harm in experimenting
