Limitations of Quantum Limitless

@SaintSovereign @Fire @DarkPhilosopher
I’m curious about the power of Quantum Limitless? Is it possible that someone could pass the MENSA after running Quantum Limitless for a prolong period of time?

MENSA is actually not that hard. The Prometheus Society on the other hand…

There have been threads about Limitless and raising IQ. I think by itself Limitless would sharpen what I call mental reflexes, the ease by which your mind comes up with answers. That does not necessarily increase IQ. But what exactly is IQ?

There’s an experiment from a while back. The scientists figured that by letting seniors do daily Sudoku it would keep their brain sharp. The end result of the experiment was that the subjects became very good at Sudoku, but none of their other mental faculties showed improvement.

Similar research found that the current generations have difficulty with the section of IQ tests where they show you three sides of a cube and you have to guess the next side. They theorized that because children get all their information pre-chewed by comics, TV and computers, they have lost the ability to perform spatial deduction (or whatever it’s called). They can’t imagine in 3D.

The high IQ societies use certain certified IQ tests. IQ tests can be trained. Do enough of them and the test results will change. You would be training your brain to do well in all different categories of the IQ test instead of only the ones we use in our daily lives.

Does that mean your IQ is going up? Some might say that you’re cheating. I would argue that each category of the test represents a mental skill scientists believe every human should possess, and instead of training just the one you are training all those mental muscles. And maybe IQ is simply an indicator of how well those muscles are trained.

To go back to the beginning, Limitless should help accelerate the development of those mental muscles, but you do have to put in the work. Limitless won’t make one a chess master either unless they practice. But Limitless will make them one faster when they do practice.

Could I have done this in a single paragraph? Probably. :slightly_smiling_face:

@DarkPhilosopher I was going to say The Prometheus Society but I didn’t want to get too optimistic if I am in fact capable of such a thing. The optimism that is

Isn’t Quantum Limitless on a whole other level that Limitless?

Some people are what an optimist calls a realist.

I think in some cases it is good to set high goals as long as you can be satisfied with less. Aim for Prometheus, but be satisfied if you end up in Mensa. It’s better than aiming for Mensa, getting there and wondering what to do next. :slightly_smiling_face:

Or as the saying goes: Aim for the stars. If you end up on the moon, you already got further than most.

When I say Limitless, I mean the entire line of Limitless products, including QL. In the end their goals are the same. But maybe Limitless chooses to use a single road to its goal, QL picks 5 and travels them all to see which gets to the goal first. The other 4 will teach you stuff even if they don’t get to the goal first.

I think if there is a possibility for an IQ increase, either Limitless product would eventually reach the same increase.

Always fantasied on these clubs, always wondered if they would be like some fancy private swingers club.

Fun quote about MENSA/IQ:

Actually, though, don’t such scores simply mean that I am very good at answering the type of academic questions that are considered worthy of answers by people who make up the intelligence tests - people with intellectual bents similar to mine?

For instance, I had an auto-repair man once, who, on these intelligence tests, could not possibly have scored more than 80, by my estimate. I always took it for granted that I was far more intelligent than he was.

Yet, when anything went wrong with my car I hastened to him with it, watched him anxiously as he explored its vitals, and listened to his pronouncements as though they were divine oracles - and he always fixed my car.

I just Googled The Prometheus Society and unless I read it incorrectly which is possible because I tend to gloss over stuff but it looks like one has to take the MAT and get the necessary or higher score for admission. Seems like someone could study for at similar to an SAT or whatever
Definitely something Quantum Limitless would help with

The MAT is the Miller Analogies Test

That probably requires me get a college degree beforehand

I’m still hoping to one day find myself in an Eyes Wide Shut masked sex party. :slightly_smiling_face:

Secret societies never lose their appeal.

Truth is, there are several of these high IQ societies and their main activity is to help their members overcome the limitations that come with having such a high IQ. Mainly on the social front. They have forums with advice and gatherings and to provide a place for people of the same intellect to come together. They also organize activities to bring the members together.

Other than that, you get the newsletter. I have yet to visit a Mensa lodge with book cases up to the ceiling, large leather chairs next to a fireplace where we sit and control the world with the power of our intellect while the butler brings us expensive drinks and cigars.

I believe you can take the Miller even without a degree. You can opt not to send your test results to your school, meaning it is possible to do it just because you want to. You can even opt not to be scored at all.

The test itself is not that difficult. The challenge is the time limit. You have 120 questions, 30 seconds per question. You can get those practice tests, which would be fun to try out. I think you’re only allowed to do them once though.

You could start with the Mensa IQ Challenge on their website. See what you score there.

I didn’t get this one on the Mensa practice test. Can you see the pattern?

Haven’t grasped the pattern yet but I’d guess ‘B’ (because one feature I notice is inversions/reversals of opposing symbols).

Is this timed?

@Malkuth Yes

They are testing deductive reasoning, not reverse image searching skills. :slightly_smiling_face:

In this case, keep only the shapes which are in the same spot and remove everything else, then flip them upside down across the line. So the upper right dot is the only similarity, which is then moved from above the line to below the line.

Those last 4 ones were tough. #33 is also nasty because you have to go diagonally and multiple moves.

Yup, that’s what makes it difficult. You have less than a minute per question if I recall correctly. So your mind has to almost right away see the pattern. No thinking about it. Only then will you have a little extra time for the hard ones.

A friend of mine took an IQ test. Fortunately it came back negative.

Let’s say I am an idiot with an IQ of 75, so at the most one year of running Quantum Limitless can boost my IQ to 85. Maybe a little smarter, but still overall not smart enough.

On the other hand, what if I already have a college degree in physics and already have an IQ of 190? With one year of running Quantum Limitless, perhaps my IQ may go up to 200 and I may be able to debunk one of Stephen Hawking’s theories.

Not sure whether it really works this way, but either way, @James your question is an interesting question that requires a consideration of one’s external circumstances, mental state and cognitive abilities.

Perhaps Quantum Limitless works like the way someone in the Limitless movie said, “Works better if you’re already smart”.

Aside from that, I was actually wondering whether it is advisable for someone who hasn’t run QLST2 or QLST3 to run QLST4 for one whole year?

Maybe I should put that in as a question in a support ticket.

I misread that. I thought you were saying you’re an idiot with a IQ of 75

I was curious about that myself.

Not that exact scenario but I have been incredibly curious what it would be like to be that intelligent if I’m not already and it’s somehow dormant or repressed only to have Quantum Limitless unleash it

I will say this that running Quantum Limitless St 1 the last few days I have already noticed a difference in how I think…
Not so impulsive or quick to say something. Really considering my responses

I keep thinking about this scene in Limitless. Where he says he’s fifty moves ahead of everyone else

I want to be ten moves ahead of everyone and anyone

I think there isn’t any clear answer to this at the moment. The nature vs nurture debate still rages on and on…

The only way for you to find out is to run it.
