Journal: The Emperor's Relentless Pursuit

Here I will start a new journal that should be about persistence in the face of obstacles. Meaning my journey from postponing and procrastination to a man of doing and pursuing.
I long thought about my next stack and which most pressing goals of mine I should tackle with it. In any life, certainly in mine, there are numerous parallel areas crying out for improvement. It was no easy task to peel out the most pressing thing. Finally I decided that it is finally the time to get rid of my procrastination and switching from one project to another. I realized that I need to set clear visions and goals and see them through to completion.

To support this transformation, I’ve decided to use “Emperor: The Executive“. Suspecting this will give a lot of recon, I’ll pair it with “Love Bomb“ to maintain emotional balance, ensuring I don’t become overly self-critical when I miss deadlines or fall short of my expectations.

Later on, I certainly will add the new “Spartan: The Beast Unleashed” to support my fitness goals (as I have done the last 7 months with “Spartan: Apex Warrior” with great success).

It has to be seen if I need to switch out later on “Love Bomb” with “Emperor” or another status title.

I’ll go with the sweet spot method for both titles. Beginning the cycle with 30sec and increasing 10 seconds every listen till I hit the sweet spot. I’m wondering if I’ll recognize the sweet spot  let’s see.

A typo here. It’s Spartan: The Beast Unleashed.

Good luck on your new journey.

Corrected.

The first run on 50 secs went smooth and with good productive results.
Starting and doing tasks was easy, no more hesitation and “dragging” to do a task. It was flow.

The second run already caused recon. I started procrastinating again. I will cut back on the next run to 40secs.

40 seconds without recon. Was productive yesterday and today. Importand observation: the productiveness came easily, I didn’t have to “press-through”.

40 Seconds seems to be my sweet spot for the moment. No recon, smooth ride, less procrastination.

"Forgotten " to run The Executive and Love Bomb on the scheduled day. Did it in the morning, the day after. An hour or so after running the titles, my productivity increased, procrastination wanned.

Again, I “forgot” to run the titles. My subconscious really doesn’t like the changes the titles bring… I ran it yesterday evening. This morning started very productive after waking up (I was quick in the shower, so I had more time for learning), but it faded as soon as I arrived at work.

I had a strong realization on Friday while working on an app for a customer. I realized that I often procrastinate to avoid facing the possible failure that doing something can bring. I seem to fear failure like the devil fears holy water… After working the whole day on the app, I was really frustrated because I couldn’t get to grips with the new concept of Web Components and thought of myself as a failure (I’m very harsh on myself, even if it was the first time I really delved into the topic). Then I had the above realization, and when I worked on the project again yesterday, all the puzzle pieces came together. I really need to be more lenient with myself and trust the process.

As I started with Emperor: The Executive, I also picked up a book that I wanted to read for years. “The Slight Edge” by Jeff Olson. It’s the perfect companion to The Executive. So good.

“The Slight Edge” by Jeff Olson is a philosophy emphasizing that success is built through consistent, small, positive actions over time. It’s about making slightly better choices daily, which, when compounded, lead to significant results. The book contrasts this with the idea of overnight success, highlighting that consistent, incremental improvements are the key to achieving long-term goals.

Since starting Emperor: The Executive I started with implementing the slight edge principle into my day. Do everyday a little action that brings you nearer to your goal. Have to to a lot of work regarding my “slack habbits” at work. It’s one of the most painfull things I experience. I try hard to focus and concentrate my whole worktime on tasks and projects but more often than not I catch me slacking around (internet, discord, forums, etc.).

I’m in washout, and The Executive is blooming. Over the weekend I was productive as hell, even established an anti-procrastination routine based on the Slight Edge philosophy. One caveat: this productivity gain/anti procrastination only applies to my private time. At work I’m still very unproductive. But I will overcome that, like an alcoholic will overcome his addiction.

I started a new cycle, the second with The Executive. Based on @Judoka’s recommendation:

I run it solo for one cycle. I started yesterday with 32 seconds.

The drive for execution is still high. Love it.
