Jouissance - Legacy Of The Spartan & Fitness updates

Alright.

Going to start tracking my fitness.

Eventually, I will use LOTS or return to another sub with light physical shifting.

For now, I’m not running any fitness-related subliminals. I’m only tracking my fitness here as a baseline to see how much change I can create without any (fitness) subliminal input.

From there, I’ll add a fitness subliminal and see if the changes come at a faster rate.

Current weight: 168.x
Current Pull Up Amount: 6
Max 70lb KB Swings: 25
8 Rep OHP: ???
January Avg HRV: 38
January Highest HRV: 50
January Avg Strain: 7.5

Fitness guys help me figure out what to track thx <3

Do you have a specific fitness goal in mind?

Looking at your pullups, I’d say you’d benefit from taking up rings. I did calisthenics for most of my 20s, and then ended up at the gym. Had a painful injury there which took me half a year to recover from(pulled/teared shoulder joint), which got me interested in a more sustaineable way for my training in my 30s. The idea of doing challenging work on unstable foundations(olympic rings) appealed to me, and has done wonders for both my rotational flexibility as well as mass/strength gains. I recommend giving it a try.

I’ll check it out! Thanks

Specific fitness goal is to lose the small amount of belly fat that I have, while building arm abs and back size, and becoming a more functional athlete overall through cardio and explosive movements like KB swings

I can vouch for rings too.

I have almost a decade of experience with it. It’s by far the best equipment I have ever gotten.
You can do almost everything with it, it’s portable & easy to set up.
It can move freely in space, which means you can exploit the range of motion even more than usual.
The instability will also serve you well since you want to be a more functional athlete.

workout's

Feb 9:

  • 12 strain from Table Tennis & Walking
  • OHP
  • Bicep curls
    (Will track properly next time)

Bro

Pick up a program such as SS, ICF 5x5, or 5/3/1 (especially the BBB variant) and stick to that for a while.

You’d be surprised by what you can achieve, even without any dedicated subs

weight went down to 162lbs today after a 20 hour fast and a lot of cardio…

it was concerning actually to lose 7lbs in a day but my friend assured me that’s normal, especially if reducing bloating/waterweight

Yeah most of it is water friend. I remember I had the same in the first few days. Don’t be discouraged if it slows down later. You’re doing great. Also when you fast it’s okay to drink water. If anything it would probably be very good for you to drink a lot during these days. But what do I know.

If anything, I was scared i lost too much weight haha.

162 is more the weight i was expecting. I might have just had a watery day yesterday, lol.

If I can get to 155 in 2 months i’m thrilled. No rush.

As a veteran in the fitness game, I strongly second this if you have any body composition goals. Focus on muscle building, and improving your strength/performance, and everything else follows naturally. It’ll make it much easier to loose weight/body fat, and in my expierience 99% of guys focus on fat loss/cutting too early, and when they do get down to their goal weight their not really happy with how they look because of not having enough muscle mass, so they end up with the skinny fat look.

Highly highly reccomend hopping on any of the programs @Invictus mentioned.

Yeah, focusing on muscle gain and just controlling my eating. Got the home gym so looking to do a hard fullbody-ish workout every 2nd day.

If you go with rings, I cannot recommend Vadnal’s structured BodybyRings program enough. After the general program(which will last you a long time, and can be made harder with a weighted vest), there is an arm hypertrophy program you can focus on if you want.

Core strength you can build with rings is amazing. Slow, controlled pelican curls, bicep curls and tricep extensions will blast your arms. Row variations/Face Pulls/Pullup variations are gonna take care of your back. I’d still go to the gym for squats though.

This does sound amazing… Rings seem interesting the more I think about it.

I have to modify all my workouts because i can’t take heavy loads on squats/deadlifts, and I really like the explosive KB swing stuff, the functionality of explosive movements, I did a sumo tournament last summer and outwrestled a guy that was 240lbs.

Rings are like a way to get that full body mobility in but arm-centric not leg-centric. Heavy core work. Really interesting idea!!!

And that being incorporated with an arm hypertrophy component for my vanity’s sake sounds awesome too lol
