Something I’m beginning to wonder about here is the different words and techniques applied by different types of people to this principle.
The word obsession has a different connotation and feeling to it compared to engagement, and yet the two are effectively the same thing in the context of obtaining flow, signifying that extreme attention to or interest in a subject. Its possible that the choice to connote one over the another comes down to the perceived internal resistance/tension or energy levels in the body.
It could be just a descriptive artifact of the difficulty of entering the flow state for an overly analytical mind. But I feel like that its a linguistic difference worth investigating. Why do some of use use obsession as the descriptor and others different keywords?
