Okay.
Warning: this is a long one so skip to the bottom for tl;dr
Some of you know me, some of you don’t. As a long-time SubClub member + user I can say that I’ve had some REALLY long bouts of spinning my tires, hoping to get moving. I thought I’d tried everything.
Enter Qv2.
A few months ago I switched from my customs to Qv2 main titles. My stack currently is
- Ascended Mogul x2
- Primal Seduction x2
- Stark Q x2
- Inner Circle x1
Stark Q and IC were added later on, and that’s important as I’ll explain after.
At the start of this year, I was jobless and going broke living on savings. At the beginning of Feb I got a job with one of the major telecom companies in my country. Instantly I started turning heads, getting noticed, and making waves. I rose to the top of my immediate circle quickly. At this time I was running AM in a custom. Soon after AM Qv2 came out. Because I already owned this title I switched to using that.
Now I want to pause here to comment on just how effective these subs are. I was listening to these subs in ultrasonic format off my phone, sometimes in my cubicle and sometimes in more common areas. There were days when I would listen 1 loop in a common area with my team (for lack of a better option) and those days my whole team typically sold more. One day we sold so much that we got flagged by upper management - since it was unusual for a team still in training to sell as much as we did.
Toward the end of the 3 month training period, my name was being mentioned around the management team. People are saying I should go for more senior positions as I’m sure to get one quick. It’s around this time that I start realizing things about the job that make me dislike it. Certain policies that were too strict with zero room for leniency. My customer service skills are amazing so when I was being essentially punished for treating customers like human beings, I realized I would never be happy working there in the long run.
So I quit my job
Now let me explain one thing. I was amazing at that job. When I walked in one day and told them I was quitting, everyone was shocked. My direct supervisor told me she’d already recommended me for a somewhat lateral promotion. But I’d made up my mind, this company was not a fit for me. So I quit my job, a few days before my 32nd birthday.
My birthday comes and goes, nothing exciting. At this point I’d been running IC for a few weeks. Less than one week after I quit my job… I get an email in my inbox,
“We’re hiring”.
So I open it up. Y’all this email is from a film producer in New York, she runs an online film school and I was on her mailing list. She’s looking for a virtual assistant. Being a movie directors has literally been one of my biggest goals of the last 20 years. At this point I can hardly believe the synchronicity. Getting this job would be a serious foot in the door. So obviously I apply. A day later I get a reply back,
“I’d like to meet with you on Zoom and talk to you more, here’s my availability for Monday.”
You guys my heart leapt out of my chest it was beating so hard. I spend the weekend researching her movies, researching her, and mentally rehearsing accepting a job offer. Monday comes around, I crush the interview, and she says she’ll be in touch. Late Tuesday afternoon I get an email,
“I’ve narrowed it down to 3 candidates, I’m going to give each of you an assignment and after I’ve seen what you can do I’ll make a final decision if it’s a fit.”
That was yesterday. Got the assignment from her today and even though it’s not something I’ve ever done before I’m sure it’s something I can learn quickly and accomplish. What I mean to say is, I’m definitely going to get this job.
That’s my testimony. That’s how I went from having no job and stressing out about being broke to getting my dream with unlimited potential.
Tl;dr
Thanks to subclub I’m about to land my dream job in my dream field as an assistant to a film producer with a HUGE network of established and aspiring creators. The feeling is indescribable.
