How do Ultimas fit into the current Pantheon?

When Ultimas were first introduced, they were presented as light and fast acting. Play one or two loops and your Ultima could be played as often as you wish. Play 3+ loops and your Ultima behaved as a major program.

Then Qv2 was introduced, and the status of Ultima programs in this new higher strength environment, was left somewhat unclear and ambiguous. Did one loop of a Qv2 Ultima still count as ‘light’? Additional innovations appeared before there was very much time to explore this question.

And now, in this further enhanced context, in which ZP programs enhance the results of all other programs, what is the current meaning of one loop of an Ultima?

Can one loop of an Ultima program still be played as often as one wishes? How does this interact with ZP and Qv2 stacks?

Noticeably, Ultima titles are being replaced by ZP titles. How are we to use the Ultimas that we already own? Are they being treated as identical with major programs?

So that means using it everyday without a day off right?

It means treating it like a QV2 title according to the ZP instructions.

For example:

  • day 1: Ultima or QV2
  • day 2: rest
  • day 3: ZP
  • day 4: rest
  • repeat

That’s just how I read it.

and @Seeker posted the answer. (a Qv2 program in a ZP hybrid stack is played once every 4 days)

But the deeper question is ‘Why?’

In other words, how do Ultimas fit into the overall line-up.

i have raised this question several times since ZP came out and honestly the answers i have received have just made me even more confused.

so i have deiced to just use ZP the same way i use ultimas and see what happens.

I may definitely be wrong on this.

My understanding is that ZP’s power is in its scripting method.
Technology-wise, Ultima (and Q tailored to your name) is still the most powerful. It utilizes masked and ultrasonic simultaneously.
Whereas ZP has either of those only, but does a significantly better job at stimulating the subconscious in a constructive way.

Cool perspective.

I suspect that they’re not strictly comparable.

Like when the strongest boxer or wrestler first meets an expert Brazilian jiu jitsu practitioner.

I think from here on out, it will be like this;

Want to be exactly like the script? Use Qv2 or Ultima

Want to be your own version of the script? Use ZP
