Getting the Most Out of Alchemist

Hey guys,

I’ve been listening to Beyond Limitless Ultima, Alchemist ST1, and Astral Projection X for about a week a half now. What are some actions I could take to get the most benefit from Alchemist? One of my goals is to grow in my faith. I want to pray/meditate every day, and read the Bible in 90 days. What are some other ways I could get the best benefit from the program on top of what I am already planning on doing?

Also, when do I move up to ST2? I was planning on running ST1 for a month then moving up. If you have completed the program I would appreciate the insight on when to move forward.

Thanks in advance.

Those sound really good.

Practices that hit the different parts of you are a good idea.

Singing and Art will also hit that expressive (‘right-brained’) part of you
Compassion-focused practices - Devotion to Jesus (sounds like you’re Christian) reflecting on that love and care that Jesus has for you and all beings, Sending out those positive caring vibes in prayer and meditation, Concrete Acts of Service (as time, energy, and health permit)
Intellectual study - reading Bible (as you said), writing your thoughts and reflections, speaking to God as your teacher/tutor/instructor

This one may seem odd but: Sleeping. Helps with integrating everything. (Maybe I’ll start following my own advice at some point).

For deciding when to advance to the next stage, there are different approaches. Here are three:

  1. set an arbitrary time based on the statistical norms and recommendations here on the forum. This’ll typically be between 1 and 3 months per stage. (This is the most commonly used approach. People in a rush - 1 month. People who are taking longer 3 months. And the Warrior-monks will take 6 months and beyond. But they usually have their own experience-based reasons for doing so.)

  2. Benchmarks. Identify some personally meaningful result associated with the focus of that stage. Once that result has manifested, then move on to the next stage.

  3. Personal observation. Notice the new change processes that you feel occurring within you after you start running a stage. See if they peak and then calm down. Once they calm down, move to the next stage.

I think people generally do 1 with a sprinkling of 2 and 3.

(By the way, I’m currently 2 months into Alchemist Awakening (stage 3). For this program, I’ve chosen to spend 3 months on each stage, but I blend the transitions–meaning that I start to pepper in a few loops of the next stage as I’m getting close to the transition point, and after the transition, I’ll play a few loops of the stage that was just completed. When I get to stage 4, I’ll play that for a few weeks and then I’ll create a custom that includes it and play stage 4 for the next year and maybe beyond. My main Supporting Actions are daily meditation and contemplation. A bit of reading. And I do magickal workings.)

They recommend Kriya Yoga on the sales page and that’s what I do pairing it up with the Alchemist. It’s an excellent choice if you want to work with your energies.

Here’s an excellent source about Kriya:

I’m using “A Systematic Course In The Ancient Tantric Techniques Of Yoga And Kriya” as my guidelines.

I am, and I like the way you put that. I’ve been praying the Rosary daily which is a form of meditation based on different times in the life of Christ.

Your comment on sleeping hits home. I wish I could sleep well. I have been sleeping less since I started listening to the subliminal tapes, but after reading the instructions it sounds like that is normal.

After looking at what you said I’m gonna go with 3 months per stage. Take a solid year to work through the program.

Thanks for the advice.

Have you ever tried doing energy work in terms of moving energy? I’ve read Robert Bruce’s Energy Work but was unable to feel anything after trying the methods for a couple of weeks.

I have read that energy work can help with astral projection but I have yet to find a way to make it work/feel real for me. Any tips on that?

In yoga, things like astral projection (or any superpowers) are considered to be byproducts of advancing on the yogic path where the main goal is liberation from suffering and becoming united with the One.

I haven’t started working with my energies (by the means of techniques) yet since I’m at the point of removing energetic blockages and purifying my body and mind. I see how those practices have improved the general level of energy in my body. I have also transmuted a lot of negative energy (and negative self-talk, negative feelings, thoughts etc.) into my general energy. The Alchemist (Magician) is my dominating archetype and my path leads through Kriya Yoga (purifying and working with energies), therefore, I’ll be running Stage 1 (+Dragon Reborn Stage 4) for 1200 hours in total to get rid of as many blockages and transmute as much negative energy as I can. But I play my stack 16h a day (if I played 8h a day I would reduce the number to 600 hours). I think I’ll reduce it by half when Q+ has been published. Although I must admit, I’m really tempted by Renaissance Man which will be a great support to my path of development and, ultimately, I’ll be pairing it up with the Alchemist (for Stages 2-4).

You have to ask yourself the question how much time and practice you’re willing to devote to your Alchemical Path. Cultivating a really strong inner power and working with your energies takes a lot of time you could invest in getting women or getting rich using other subs. Of course, the Alchemical Path doesn’t require of you to give up on your other life goals.

I’m reading the Bible too and I think I’ll include some prayers into my daily routines since yogis say the path of devotion is the best path to liberation and becoming united with the One. Of course, being moral is vital too and Jesus shows us a great path.

Profound replies.

My advice is to open your mind to possibilities that there’s more and more into this being. To change your perspective about the world around you and to your own self.

Excellent topic

(okay, this is a long one. Hopefully not too long.)

I’ve done energy work.

After reading a recommendation from @SubliminalUser back in January, I also library-requested two books by Robert Bruce ‘Energy Work’ and ‘Astral Dynamics’. They finally came last week and kind of rocked my week.

One thing that caught my attention at first was Robert Bruce’s discussion of ‘tactile energy work’. That sounded really interesting to me, since I have very low mental visualization ability. After I started to skim through the instructions for his energy exercises, I found that 60% - 70% was similar to what I’d been taught by my qigong teacher in the past. (Qigong translates to English as ‘Energy Work’). My teacher never used the word ‘tactile’, but he was teaching the same method. Far from being a disappointment, this was actually a confirmation for me of the quality of Bruce’s work.

In contrast, Bruce’s explanations of astral travel and the context for it gave me some new and extremely helpful concepts. I’ve returned the books for now and will dive back in when I have more time in a couple of months. I’ll probably end up buying the Astral Dynamics book, maybe Energy Work too.

Okay, so energy.

It’s natural, man.

Take me as an example. I’m not particularly talented, yet I was able to feel clear and specific energy movements and phenomena in the first 20 minutes of the first workshop I ever attended. (It tends to show up as tingling, numbness, a wind blowing movement, vibration, magnetism, temperature changes, hot and cold sensations, and so on.) It’s basically like this. “You’re alive? Then you’ve got energy.” In Chinese it’s called 氣 or Qi (“chee”).

It’s life energy. And your nervous system is not only able to sense it, but is also basically running on it. So don’t worry too much about the dramatic examples and experiences described in books. All living things have Qi. (Ecstatic religious experiences? Very much involve qi.)

But the main reason that I was able to sense it on that first day was this: I was in a room with someone who had a great deal of it and a very powerful energy flow. The person teaching the workshop was a qigong master. So it was like being next to a big waterfall of qi. When you’re near that, it’s much easier to sense and also your own qi responds much more powerfully. Also, when you’re in a room with a lot of people who are also practicing, it creates an energy field. You can feel the same thing in large groups of worshipping people or even in angry mobs. It’s concentrated life-force.

After I left the workshop and went home to practice by myself, I did not feel it very powerfully at all. Often I didn’t feel much of anything ‘special’.

So one trick that I would recommend, especially since you’re Christian, is to combine the energy work with your religious practices. This is a common trick in the esoteric branches of most world religions. It’s easy.

  1. Intention makes a big difference. You’ll see that in Robert Bruce’s books. But it’s an old idea. 意到,氣到. That’s the Chinese expression. When intention arrives, energy arrives. Well, guess what prayer is? Concentrated intention. Consider your prayer as a part of your energy work. And also directly speak in prayer about how you intend to move your energy and what purposes you intend to use it for. (You don’t have to know all the answers. If you’re not sure, then pray about that. You can tailor this to your own needs.)

  2. When you do an energy practice, think of it as a kind of prayer-in-motion, a body-based prayer. Do it with a sense of gratitude. Be grateful to be alive. And offer your energy as an expression of gratitude to God (as you understand God). This is not just to have some ‘miracle’ happen. It’s a sincere way of connecting to and thanking God. The more beneficial part is that now that you’ve given it to God you don’t have to be like a little kid opening the oven every minute to see if the cake is finished baking. (Which is what we often do at first when we’re just practicing for ourselves.).

Ask God to guide your practice. Then dedicate the practice to God and LET GO OF OUTCOME. Who cares? Are you constantly checking to see that your heart is still beating and your blood is still flowing? You just gratefully accept it. Do the same with this.

(From my own journey, I’m more likely to speak of Cosmos or Great Nature than ‘God’ most of the time. But for me, it’s expressing the same thing.)

Instead of worrying about supernatural or paranormal superpowers developing (and by the way, they’re all natural), you can now feel a sense of completion and success in having given a special kind of prayer that involves more parts of you.

That will make it much easier to be patient.

Oh, and I may not have fully expressed this clearly but if you join a class, workshop, or a group with a qualified teacher, it will be easier to progress. This can even work through Zoom, though it’s probably more powerful in person. This is also very natural. Put two pianos or two guitars next to each other. Firmly press (or pluck) A# on one. The same tone will resonate sympathetically in the other one. Just basic wave mechanics.

In joining classes and studying with teachers, you’ll want to avoid weird, manipulative, overly mystical asshole-gurus; just go for someone normal. And realize that no matter the realization of the teacher, they’re still human and will make mistakes. But the biggest danger to look out for is not an external teacher. It’s our own childish tendency to aggrandize and worship role models due to our need to see them as perfect. Try to root out this tendency in yourself as it has a good track record for messing up all types of contemplative work.

Okay, another long post. This is one of my passion areas. (Also, I’ve noticed this tendency to write very long passages while listening to Quantum Limitless.)

I recommend this episode to you so that you could see what’s the link between Kriya Yoga and Jesus’ teachings:

Yogananda, one of the main teachers, wrote books referring to Jesus’ teachings a lot.

I have practiced Qigong for many years and can really recommend it.
The best system I know is called Flying Phoenix:

Thank you for the detailed reply, and no it wasn’t too long, I appreciate the help. Based on what you said there I did experience some feeling. I didn’t know what to expect so I thought something grand was going to happen. I will be rereading Energy Work this week and putting in more effort this time.

I think that was my biggest problem when I tried before. I was too attached to the outcome. I’ve had trouble getting myself to astral project for the last few months and I think it is because I focus too much on trying to make something happen. All the times I have successfully astral projected, I was barely trying, it just happened.

All good, seeing all the detail you provided here makes me want Quantum Limitless. Thank you again for the reply.

I want to focus on spiritual growth for now. I have a good job and am happy where I am financially. The spiritual side of my life is the one area that I have felt a lack in for a while and want to change that. I have the time and will to commit to finding the fulfillment I desire in this area.

Your comments on yoga make me laugh. I do yoga, but not the kind you’re mentioning. When I’m at work I do DDP Yoga, which if you haven’t seen it’s yoga by a former WWF wrestler, and is basically BRO Yoga. :joy: I will look into adding Kriya Yoga. I feel like I’ll recieve a more energetic reward from that versus “Hulking it out.” Thanks for the help.

I findthis guy’s approach to meditation the best so far:
http://culadasa.com/meditation-introduction/

You could also be interested in Shikantaza. The point is to find the meditation style that works best for you. Kriya is a way of preparing your body and mind for the highest mediation states and for working with your energies (Kundalini) and then leads your through the process. The book I recommended to you is the only one I found which offers all you need. Of course, you have to use your reason too since there might be some techniques you didn’t like like vomiting to purify your stomach.
