Another thing also is listen to the sub, i explain it in my journal… But to summarize it brought to surface alot of things holding me back + things i need to do to level up as a man. For example it gave me weird feelings about 2 toxic guys i was hanging with slowing me down so taking action for me was blocking their numbers. I actually ignored dragon first and hung with one of them and got bad recon… Second for me at least was eating clean and hitting the gym, so of course for that taking action is just doing those things everyday regimented

Yes.

Real therapy. The kind where you’re actively processing experiences.

Also, I’m finding that having difficult interactions, conversations, with people (or situations) who have challenged you or who have activated your dysfunctional (or even functional) coping mechanisms is an appropriate (though not very fun) action.

Frankly, now that I think of it, I think it’s kind of difficult to not take relevant action with Dragon Reborn. We’re constantly getting triggered by people, situations, and our own minds. And they deal with exactly the same areas that Dragon Reborn works to strengthen, heal, and improve.

So, it’s kind of one of those programs, where the relevant action is: go out and live your life as best you can.

But apart from that, I’d say anything that requires you to ā€œprocessā€ things is going to be compatible.

Discussing your fears
Reviewing your doubts and insecurities
Dealing with someone with whom you’ve had fights and disagreements in the past
Either remembering or revisiting situations that you have found difficult, overwhelming, or traumatizing
Doing something creative or expressive (playing music or writing a song)
Doing anything that ā€˜gives you the feels’
Making a plan or thinking about how hard it is to make a damn plan

All of these things (and many more) relate to the integration of your inner world, and they’re all going to kind of engage the power of Dragon Reborn.

I would recommend 20 minutes of silent meditation everyday too. Will hslp with clarity of mind and reconcilliation.

I’m listening to DR St2 as I write. I’m facing a challenge that I’ve not moved past ever, and I’m moving into it.

Specifically, it’s being honest with myself, and a few others when helpful. Me wearing old protective masks is what’s really strangled my growth, and I’m walking into it. That’s my challenge to face today, meaning I’m taking action in each moment.

Edit:
And that’s how I allow DR to help me. I began in counseling in my late teens, and I regularly looked for help via counselors for over a decade. What I didn’t see until later was I was looking to stay in that loop myself. I had been in 12 step rooms just as long, and after many years I saw myself still rehashing and blaming others for my problems–the very problems I was ā€œcomfortableā€ with.

DR changes me from the inside, and I realize I’m responsible for my growth. It’s quite empowering when looking back at my years of rehashing my history. DR encourages me to make changes. And I am now.

I recommend against therapy unless you can find a REALLY results driven therapist.

They are incentivized so you don’t really get better, rather it’s kind of just a circle jerk to talk about your feelings but never address the root issues. Which hopefully Dragon Reborn should do for you.

Journal. Reflection. Meditation. Fasting. Run Healing Subs.

Your subconscious mind is the one that is in control of trauma, you need to address the root cause.

Actually, these days many therapists are ā€˜incentivized’ to apply cognitive-behavioral conceptualizations and techniques so that the client can experience some degree of therapeutic movement before the short-term insurance coverage runs out. Typically that may be 3-8 sessions. And the emphasis will be on some measurable (often behavioral and at times superficial) result, rather than on deeper insight or self-awareness.

When getting any service, whether it be therapy, swimming pool cleaning, or a hair cut, do your best to clarify the terms, the methods, and the expected outcomes in order to avoid being surprised or disappointed. Ask focused questions before you commit to payment.

10 people looking for therapists may want 10 different things. You’ll need to clarify what you want and ensure that this is what is being offered by that particular therapist. If it’s not, look for another therapist. Or, listen to the therapist’s description of what will happen and then adjust your expectations accordingly.

If what you want is ā€˜results-drivenness’ then follow @Monarch 's suggestion. If what you want is something else (for example, ethically facilitated self-exploration), then seek that. Either way, try to get clear on 1) what’s possible and achievable, and 2) how that fits with what you’re looking for.
