My EQ output on my phone is set to ‘rock’ as all audio sounds better to me with this setting.
Should I set the EQ to ‘off’ so all are balanced when listening to the subs?

I would say balance it out 
If I remember proprely and someone can confirm, especially for ultima titles, you want a flat audio response.
