Daredevil: SHOWTIME!

While contemplating what might go into RM, the concept developed into something different. Not sure this works for SC, but here it is:

Daredevil: SHOWTIME!

(Alternatives: RM: OUTRAGEOUS!, RM Black, RM: Spotlight or WANTED: Spotlight?)

The master of the attention economy.

DDS should have aspects of True Social and Daredevil: Fearless - a scandal is just one way to go viral - and at the very core a gifted storyteller. In best RM style DDS will take a holistic approach and use any media virtuosically to tell (and often star in) his story.

DDS should have a strong emphasis on the relaxed nervous system. Life is Art and the whole world is the audience. It’s a delicate dance to present a stage persona, captivate, tell a compelling story and stay emotionally resilient.

The three big themes of DDS are sex, humour and style. (Strong fame scripting.)

DDS would be for artists who want to break out, stage performers, actors, directors, larpers, influencers, comedians, socialites, politicians, media personalities.

Modules to be included:

Rewritten magnetism of WANTED
Moment Immortalized (Flirting with the camera)
Sundial (Timing is everything)
Human Connection (!)
Power Talk
Synergy: Voice is the Law
The Fools Courage
The Lazy Genius
Sunrise Welcome
Reality Bubble
The Instant Edge

EDIT1: Changed the title. “OUTRAGEOUS!” was a bit too much on the scandalous side.

Reflecting on it, this would work better as

DAREDEVIL: SHOWTIME!

A couple more thoughts on sex, drama, humor and style.

These are just good possible hooks for attention and the stories to tell. Of course a painter doesn’t need drama and no politician should tell stories about his sexlife, but sex appeal or sublimated tensions won’t hurt. Humor and style though are kinda universal.

Sex captivates and can easily hold the attention.

Similar to a lot of stocktraders that are incredibly susceptible to rumors, hypetrains and emotions but put all these in very serious looking graphs and memos, is the art scene often very open to the artistic value of black and white p*rn, sorry, erotica. No matter what, it definitely guarantees you and your work a first inquiring look and that is so much more than most art will get.

Drama. These are the storylines to tell. Reality shows are so incredibly successful, because they tell seamingly real, often messy stories. We are all oversaturated with the plots and dialogues, we have seen in films and movies gazillion times. This will get even more important in the days of AI.

It is a high art to tell stories with different media. How to tease right, how to use the summer lull to get on the frontpage, when to show yourself and how and when to vanish for a while. It requires a high degree of empathy and dramatic understanding where a story stands emotionally at every moment and the complete absence of stagefright. Reading the audience is incredibly important for anyone on a stage.

Humor is IMO the most important part. It is the get-out-of-jail-free-card in public discussions. If you ever followed a chat with a comedian who stands for public office and he is nailed down by a tough question, he brings a landing joke, the audience laughs and the question is settled without being answered. If you can bring snappy oneliners, your quote or interview is printed. If you can implement humor into your art even better. (As mentioned in a different thread: A banana ducktaped to a wall (with precise instructions when to change the banana) was a piece of art and a joke and it was auctioned off for 2.000.000$.) Humor is the crowbar to social and cultural rules. Properly used you can get away with pretty much anything and be praised for it.

Style. Not so much beauty but being recognizable, be it your fashion sense or art style and your trademarks. Larger than life stories and appearance help too.

Not entirely sure, why I had the strong urge to write all this down.

It’s probably the ZONE and

when sirens sing in their sleep

ESSENCE: Human Connection
Golden Hour
Synergy: Voice is the Law
Power Talk
Synergy: Tale of the Dragon

DAREDEVIL: SHOWTIME! would be IMO a fair compromise for all the proposed subs regarding actors, comedians, talking heads, politicians and everyone using the attention economy.

One last thought on the attention economy as it is:

Most social media plattforms run on ever worsening anxiety and shrinking attention span with an endless stream of ultrashort videos.

Daredevil: SHOWTIME! should be the antidote.

Not sure how this would work in practice but a couple of loose thought on it:

Leading the audience emotionally should be the core skill of DD:S.

Scripting that helps to formulate the diffuse and often spiralling anxiety into concrete fears. Fears with a set origin can be dissolved or fought. In a second step DD:S should bring hope to counter the fears. (Humor is again an excellent tool to shrink fears.) It’s much harder work to go for hope, but will be also so much more rewarding and in the end stronger than the anxiety inducing algos.

Not sure about the social dynamics here. To dissolve anxieties directly is in my experience incredibly hard.
