For people who’ve used customs (which is a lot of people here), do you notice better results vs using regular subs? Like does the name embedding really have a noticeable effect?

Customs work better if you put in the time to really plan them well and get to know them.
Some will say the name-embedding helps. Others have said not so much.
I think it really depends how invested you are in it. How well you plan by picking just the modules you want.
Some make the (in my opinion) mistake of putting in 20 modules each time to “get their money’s worth”. But really you aren’t paying for the custom, you’re paying for a result.
Very possible a 5-module custom will get you to your goals and beyond better than a 20-module one.
Just treat this with the same care you would in buying a car, and you’ll be fine I think.
Having said that, I like my customs. I’ve bought maybe 6 or 7 total since customs became a thing.

I haven’t run either yet though. I definitely took time to choose each one though
