Creativity for programmers, particularly for software developers

I’m a programmer myself, having a custom combo of Stark and Index Gate cores and major store Beyond Limitless in my stack.
And any programmer sometimes reach a state of a lack of creativity, especially when it comes to thinking about what kind of pet or commercial project they want to make.

I reached this point. I’m thinking about what application to make, but… you know, nothing comes into my mind. Unfortunately, neither my custom, nor Beyond Limitless provide me that much creativity to solve the issue of my inner programmer artist. What kind of title could help develop and promote artistic creativity in the context of my case? Probably, it might be Ultimate Artist or even Renaissance Man?

@AnswerGroup , your opinion could help me a lot.

It would be Renaissance man, not ultimate artist. UA is for the technical component more. RM is for unleashing your creativity

Just skimmed UA’s description and read out this:

Probably exactly one year ago I ran RM for one or two cycles, didn’t have that much creativity. Though, fair to say that I didn’t need creativity that much those days.

You could also try meditating, opens space up for new ideas to come in and activates right brain…

Purely out of business point of view: Don’t try to come up with something groundbreaking.

Instead, figure out an app that you can improve on. Choose a category that you like, go through all the competition and check the reviews. Spot the complaints and fix those.

Don’t aim for a moonshot. Aim for 5-10% better than the current apps to get traction. With only the good core features. Keep it simple enough.

For example: read what Heptabase team is doing. I think their approach is effective.

They’ve been cash flow positive since the launch. They have funding, but haven’t needed to touch it at all.

Definitely, such an obvious approach, but was so hidden from my mind. Never thought about it. Thank you very much, will apply it everywhere as long as it fits the situation.

Pure Gold I mean what can i say ?. He is spot on if you look at the latest innovations today. They have taken the already invented wheel and enhanced it.

The few days I ran Stark Black, I had several product and content ideas.

One was a GTA style game where the player gets to drive around a city destroying everything woke.
Flags, buildings, clinics, blue-haired people.

lmao

sadly or happily, making such kind of games are not a field of my interests. it’s more about applied programs, the ones you can use in your life to get some kind of profit from it.

  1. I was telling that SB could help you with product ideas.

  2. I was hinting that it doesn’t matter whether you make apps, games, content, movies, or platforms; whether you support free speech or censorship; whether you want to make something of global interest or local – there are massive under-served markets all over the world, because of political and cultural polarization.

I used a Linux distribution the other day, what a shitty experience. The one thing that bothers me most is the horrible font rendering for the UI.and especially for browsing. We need better freetype and fontconfig. The technology of font rendering is so subpar to Apple or Microsoft.

I suppose the reason of it because Linux is non-proprietary software. it’s maintained by enthusiasts who’s the only motivation to do that is an interest and the only time they can do that is at free time.

I am gonna buy mac then lol

Nouveau Rich maybe?
