Also, would Emperor Daddy be just as effective as Emperor, or would the expanded scripting in Daddy “slow down” the expression of the discipline scripting from OG Emperor?
Funny thing is the word “discipline” is only mentioned once in the Hero sales page, and only in reference to the inspiration behind the sub - samurais.
Never thought it would be so effective for that specific case
Difficult to say because these are very different titles. As said previously, Hero is excellent for when you have a specific skill you want to focus on. Spartan is excellent for anything martial or fitness related. Emperor for business, Executive for general productivity.
All will have an overall effect on discipline as well.
It is one word; but that does not mean it is one thing.
Clarity about your true and enduring motivations and values
Single minded focus
The ability to block distractions from your awareness
Pain tolerance and discomfort tolerance
Pleasure tolerance, the ability to enjoy the goal once it is attained
Strong imagination that can remember and connect with your desired outcomes and conditions even when they are not physically present (‘Out of sight but still in mind’)
Strategic and tactical intelligence. (Having a good sense of which plans or behaviors will work best and how they will actually play out in reality.)
Flexibility, the capacity to adapt one’s approach and efforts to changing environmental conditions
These are just some of the ingredients. Throw them in a bowl. Mix them together. Put the whole thing in the Oven of Real-World Testing and Challenge.
And what comes out may be something that (some) people will label as ‘Discipline’.
On top of this, you don’t need every single ingredient. You just need enough of some of them.
So many possible ingredients. And some of them you already have and are already doing well with.
This is why, although there are titles that may be generically ‘good for discipline’, you still need to be disciplined enough to look at yourself and explore what will be best for your discipline.
In this way, it’s like asking the question, ‘which playing card is best for giving me the complete set of cards?’ Or ‘which card will give me a straight flush?’ Or ‘Which card will give me the complete set of Pokémon?’
In each case, one answer would be: ‘It depends which cards you’re currently holding’. Or ‘It depends which cards you have in your deck’.
What are the crucial factors that you think are separating you from being disciplined?
Or conversely,
Which factors do you think would get you that last couple of feet into the Land of Discipline?
For me, your responses to those questions tell me which program I might recommend.
After some reflection, I realized what I am needing to work on is the WILLPOWER aspect of discipline
Doing the things I know I should do, even though it feels difficult at first, and forgoing the easy dopamine of quick pleasures like scrolling on my phone or watching TV or something.
Is HERO still good for this? Would Spartan be better in this one use case?
I haven’t used HeO so I can’t confirm it from personal experience but I do think it would be the best title for the goal you described.
I will tag @Viktor here since he has used HeO the most and is still using it with spectacular results. Am sure he can enlighten us with a more detailed analysis and whether it will do the the job for you.
Productive people have productive impulses, not some insane willpower
Being disciplined, gritting your teeth and doing something you clearly don’t like sounds horrible, and heavily reminds me of slavery lol. But imo its even worse
Gotta work on own impulses, learning to enjoy life and generate enthusiasm
That’s the key I think, that over the years has peaked at me through the curtains multiple times, beckoning me to a better life, but I have never known how to take that step.
What would you suggest for learning to generate enthusiasm? Any real life practices or subliminal titles greatly welcomed
HeO is more indirect.
It will help you get the willpower through adhering to the virtue and the satisfaction from the mastery.
If you use it long enough, it will be extremely strong. Since you know that you’re not working just for yourself, but for a higher purpose.
But for raw willpower, just use LE or The Executive.
The difference is clear.
They are faster, more direct and easier to apply.
Stack that with DRLD or DRR/G, then you’ll get one of the strongest, most holistic boost towards your productivity. Which will make discipline a lot easier to build.
HeO is great for boosting your sense of purpose & fulfilment. But if you want quick raw direct willpower, there are better options out there.
oh man, that’s an insanely lengthy topic, requiring insane belief changes imo. At least it did for me. You can technically restructure your whole life in a few months but it takes some balls lol
First of all, the sub that can help, I assume is Genesis. Find your purpose, adventure, etc
Now, to the actions you should take
We’ll start with worldview first, then to skills and actions and then to the knowledge part of the whole framework
Worldview and mental world architecture
Knowledge without correct worldview is useless. You are listening to the subliminals, you should know that if a person thinks he’s uncapable and unlucky, undeserving, then it’s gonna be useless to tell him that there are some opportunities which can make it so he gets everything he desires. His worldview would just refuse it. He’ll be replying “Yeah, that’s right but I can’t do it”
If you want to implement something new, you need to change your worldview first
Now, mental world architecture. It’s the detalisation system. Like, when I see a car, I see a thing with 4 wheels but when some car mechanic sees it, he sees engine, suspension, propeller shaft, etc.
So just by looking at one object, two people build completely different mental map of the world.
Psyche, Energy and Choices
Any unclosed, undone thing reserves some resources from your psyche. If your life consists of such things, you are running on 5% from your total energy lol. It’s better to do something once and for all, completely forgetting about it.
Never put off things until tomorrow. Don’t save millions of notes that you will never read, don’t put off calling some relatives, don’t put off having some conversations, etc.
One of the most fatiguing things in life is a choice. Doesn’t matter how important this choice is for you but it’s difficulty does matter a lot. So, technically, there could be no difference between choosing what you are going to eat today and choosing a partner that you want to marry
Proper management of neuroresources is the thing that defines your abilities. If you exhaust your neural resources with useless choices and putting things off until tomorrow, you just won’t have any left for truly important things.
Key actions:
stop spending time on useless choices. Don’t spend more than 30 seconds on useless choices like in which cafe to go (they are gonna be more or less the same) or which movie to watch today.
complete all the hanging tasks you have. Or forget about them forever. Stuff like calling relatives, getting the debt back from a friend, watching something you decided to watch later, etc. Literally write it down, then complete it once and for all or forget about it forever.
throw away any useless things in your house. Anything that you use rarely, any clothes that you aren’t wearing often, items, etc. Ideal productivity conditions are 4 naked walls, pc and a notepad and nothing more in the house lol. Also clean your phone: delete old contacts, old messaged and dialogues, apps you aren’t using, clean your full gallery - if you can’t delete something, do a backup on google drive and delete it from your phone. Same with PC. Also put phone on grayscale mode, turn off face ID, turn on the night shift mode forever. Turn off all notifications except the most important few and have your phone on silent.
develop a habit to not spend more than 30 sec on useless choices.
Neural resource is a physical parameter. If you take up too many tasks, you will inevitably start missing deadlines, start procrastinating, etc. The essence of procrastination is “I need to but I can’t”.
Brain doesn’t recognize the difference between imagination and reality
When you are watching your favourite football team winning the game, your tesosterone rises because you associate yourself with them. That’s why you must NEVER associate yourself with losers or else you will feel bad and will lack enthusiasm forever.
Cut off all loser friends. Only leave high quality people around you - the ones who are into self improvement, growth, etc.
Accepting full personal responsibility
Stop reacting to what happens, start controlling it instead
Each second of reacting to what happened is a wasted second that you could use to control what happened and extract value from it.
Focus on what you can do and what depends on you. Know what doesn’t depend on you and don’t focus on it a lot. The proportion should be like 90:10
Don’t be wondering what other people did wrong. Focus on what you could’ve done better.
The logical thing that comes out of this principle is that if your life sucks for some reason, it’s only because of you.
Before you start acting on improving your life, you need a clear space (no hanging tasks, etc. like described above) and a correct state of mind and mood. First you become the person who can achieve your goals, then you achieve them.
Now, we are getting close to enthusiasm and will to live
Main driver of all your actions is will to live. The full lack of will to live = suicide (fast, through obvious means and slow, through alcohol, drugs, etc.)
Maximum will to live = using every opportunity to improve your life, increase good feeling and mood, decrease negative feelings
It’s a fully biological parameter.
When you lack will to live, instead you get self-pity. Self-pity massively decreases enthusiasm and energy.
Imagine you want to start a youtube channel but not doing it for some reason. It’s because of self pity. Because you don’t want to upload first video, get 17 views and 17 dislikes lol. And your body doesn’t give you the energy for that.
The way to kill self pity is to accept and realize death. The fact that you will die. You might understand it on an intellectual level but you don’t feel it. You need to increase your fear of wasting your life.
You should realize that when you are trying to fight the fear, you are exhausting your nervous system each second. Yet when you have another fear that is bigger than the first one, the first one is suddenly very easy to overcome
Now, the will to live is the line between how bad it is right now and good good it can be.
To increase the feeling of death, you can either do very hard physical exercise or decrease your basic comfort in life. Sleep on the floor, take cold showers, eat once a day, don’t consume passive information that you won’t act on.
An important thing to note is that you should not use discipline for that. You must create such life conditions so that you have no other choice - throw out your bed lol
increase your fear of wasting life to the unimaginable heights
Ehh, start with this, I’ll later add more stuff here and @ you.
This is massive, thank you for the time and effort bro
I’m going to read this fully at lunch and give it the attention it deserves, but at first glance you’ve done me, and the forum at large, a great service here.
Lots of good Q-Store modules related to this: Synergy: Carpe Vitam (or, Carpe Diem Ascended), Victory’s Call, Mountain Breaker. And I’d add Mastermind to that.
One very simple thing that helps is to seek out visceral, bodily experiences of the outcomes you value.
When your motivation wavers or flags, you return to that bodily experience or you bring it to mind through memory (which is where Mind’s Eye would come in handy).
What physical experience can you have that is closest to the goals or conditions that you want to achieve?
I think Hero would be very good for that, it will help you develop strong core values and virtues inside of you that will basically give you a real reason to be disciplined.
It might take some time, doing one loop of Hero is not an instant productivity boost or anything like that, but over time it will make you a man who have a reason to be disciplined, a man who doesn’t allow himself to be undisciplined because of his own virtues and values that keeps him accountable.
If you want a faster discipline boost, Spartan is definitely good for that, I remember when I used Spartan I just did things, had to do something and didn’t feel like it but I did it anyways.
