Benefits of Journaling

Hi Folks, took some time off from the digital world, but back at it again now :).

I wanted to spark a discussion on the benefits of journaling and how it has helped you personally achieve growth, reduce recon, and achieve results.

For me personally, one big thing journaling does for me is it grounds me in the present. When recon hits, I often start thinking of the gap between where I am now vs. where I want to be and get taken out of the present moment. Now that isn’t a bad thing necessarily, as this is what causes the change in the first place - the journey towards your goals.

However, journaling helps keep things in perspective for me and helps me find things I’m grateful for and can celebrate on a daily basis - small milestones towards a bigger journey ahead.

Curious to hear everyone else’s thoughts

I journal offline and on here as my memory is not perfect at times. For me journaling helps with looking back at past stacks, past experiences and results.

I wasn’t journaling for like 4 or 5 days on here and discovered I was in recon.

Back at it and it feels good.

I do hand written journaling most days as well and reflect back on my state.

Journaling is great:

  1. We get to introspect on our day. After putting our thoughts in writing, we get to see the objective and clear reality of our situation instead of the day being a vague blur.

  2. A public journal invites feedback from others whose perspectives and wisdom we can use to grow.

  3. We can affirm benefits no matter how small they are. Which in turn affirm the subliminals to work even more.

  4. Our journals inspire others whether in similar predicaments or different.

  5. Helps give feedback to Saint and Fire. Gets us better products.

  6. It’s plain fun to write. Journaling is just another excuse for me to have fun with words.

  7. ARCH-ALCHEMIST DISCOUNTS!!!

When i journal i can see that suvliminals work way better than when i don’t journal. I also write what i want from the subliminal at the beginning of the journal and time to time during my cycle as well which in turn helps me affirm it.

I use journaling as a personal accountability tool. I can duck and dodge feelings all day, but writing it makes me sit with those truths, even if they’re uncomfortable.

I’m on DR now, and truths and feelings have been coming up all day. I journal to challenge myself, to test my norms, and writing here anonymously allows a freedom I don’t have in real life.

Even writing that had me realizing possible things I could do differently. Yeah, writing stirs my noggin, especially on these powerful subliminals.

I’m not sure exactly what I get out of it but I like to do it here online to be part of a self-improvement group. I guess the main benefit is it helps me to remain focused on my goals. I can lose attention easily and start doing other things or change subs too often. I was thinking about quitting the journal writing a while back but I worked out I was having some recon.
