Oh crap, I bought a custom recently with the legacy mask. Does the mask affect the efficacy of the sub?

Not at all, brother. The mask is only for your comfort level. The effectiveness of it doesn’t change based on the Mask.

Just for clarification:
If I order a custom in its cheapest build, it’s not the mask I’m used to from major titles, but an older one, not as nice?
And if I want the same mask, it’s another 30$?
Yes and with every new custom you will have to pay for the solace mask again (not like a module that you buy one time and can use it for different customs without added cost).
In my opinion the legacy mask is good enough. It is also just 15 min max listening time, you don’t have to listen to it through the night anymore.

Ordered my ZP rebuild with Legacy Mask, just waiting for it. It’s been more than a week since I’ve been waiting for it. Have raised a ticket too for it, but no response.

I guess it would be beneficial to know both to be able to decide whether to invest in solace or if legacy is enough.

Is there any possibility to listen to the legacy mask without subliminal content underneath for free, so we can compare the listening experience to the solace mask?

Exactly. When I joined this year, all titles I’ve ever bought had the solace mask already.
I like solace. But paying 30 bucks for something I can’t say it’s worth it, is not an easy decision.
Therefore being able to compare both masks would be great. I don’t want to order a custom one day, going the cheap way, only to find out, that it’s unbearable to me.
