10 or fewer modules?

So, I think I’ve seen it posted various times about using 10 modules (or fewer) in a custom.
So as to not have a bloated or overloaded custom.

I appreciate that focus is also an important factor, along with alignment , action-taking and so forth.

One thing I’ve been wondering though, is whether the 10 module recommendation is exclusive of the cores in a custom?

Because when you build a custom, the cores are added in just the same was as the modules, and count towards the total number of ‘items’ in the custom (they’re all numbered in the final summary page).

So yeah, just wondering whether this 10 module recommendation is meaning in addition to, or including, the one or two cores that you might be adding?

Also, is there any specific reason for the number 10, other than the reasons I’ve already mentioned?
Just wondered if it might be a number that synergises with the ‘fractal’ build of cores and microloop technology? Or just because it’s half of the 20 item limit

Just to mention, I’m not overthinking this lol. I’ve had customs with 15 modules, and customs with 5.
My main criteria are focus and function. But this is just something I’ve been idly wondering about lately!

Cores part of the 10’.
