We made the decision to close the thread. There were no flags on the post that indicated any kind of political viewpoint other than the fact that Subliminal Club and this forum has always remained politically neutral. Our reasoning was stated very openly stated on that thread, and will be restated here:
Everyone –
Like others, I fear that this is a turning point in regards to political tensions in the United States of America. Nonetheless, I must insist that Subliminal Club remain as neutral as possible, even in times of societal turmoil.
We all have our feelings regarding this incident, and I can see that this thread is about to descend into madness. As such, I feel inclined to close this thread and request that all continue this discussion elsewhere. We have remained non-political in the past, and we very much intend to continue that policy.
We know some will be disappointed, or thinking that we’re taking this side or the other, or whatever. But the truth of the matter is that our personal friends and colleagues – like this forum – consists of individuals all across the political spectrum. I have heard all the arguments and objections from all “sides,” including those frustrated that we won’t “take a stand” for whichever argument they are making. My phone has not stopped ringing.
Nonetheless, this is not the place for political debate. Let wisdom reign – whatever that means to you personally. The collective needs healing, it needs unity. I do not know what that looks like, nor can I even see a pathway to that outcome. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned running this company, it’s to never forget that collective change and revolution often begins with one person.
Perhaps it could be you. Stay safe, stay focused.
Nothing has changed since that day in regards to the forum rules. We understand you are upset — there are many both here and out in the world who feel the same way. Nonetheless, this is not the forum for politics. Given the circumstances and rhetoric online, emotions are high, so I will overlook this very unnecessary post. But please take a breather.
