Every process in life–every cycle–has its seasons; its phases.
And every season has its own special appeal and beautiful features.
Discovering what those are can enable you to enjoy the phase in which you currently are. In contrast, if you do not learn what those delights are you run the risk of only complaining and failing to appreciate the present moment.
Example
When in the first season, and early phases, of mastering a subject, the concepts, skills, and ideas of that subject are not yet firmly in your grasp. At this time, they are slippery; difficult to remember and to hold onto.
Many people make the mistake of focusing only on frustration or dogged determination during this early season of mastery. Slogging through the oppressive Valley of Incompetence.
Experience teaches however that also present in that early stage of practice or learning, is a special atmosphere of NOVELTY of the subject, an unavoidable Wonder about each detail precisely because the overall subject is–and FEELS–so Unknown.
When one has passed beyond this season of Slippery Unknowability and Early-Stage Exploration, there will be days when one longs for the Wonder that was so easily accessed in those early stages. At this point, we more easily recognize that there was a vital creativity to it, and an adventure to it.
Why not appreciate those elements while they are happening, instead of waiting until they have passed to begin longing for them?
That was just one example.
Each Season has its Delights.
Learn what they are and enjoy where you are.
For soon, you will be somewhere else.
