Honeymoon to me is ‘falling in love’.
Feels good. Intoxicating. And I think it’s good to keep some of that going. Lucky to those who do.
But after Falling in Love, there’s a possible stage of Walking in Like.
That’s highly appealing to me.
I think with Falling in Love the intensity and excitement and joy serves as a distraction from the cares of life or from the challenging aspects of cooperating with the other person.
Walking in Like is like building up a company. It’s based on a gradual, bit-by-bit process of appreciating the other person’s journey as a person. Not based on what they do for you, but based on what they are.
I think it’s an extension of learning to like yourself.
Not to put you on the spot @James, but this kind of seems to be where you hang out, relationship-wise.
