You really just gauge their “type” by how they talk.
Feelers=more the “hold my hand and tell me what I should be doing” type
Directors=“Do what I say and don’t tell me any jokes”
Thinkers=“Want logical rationale for the steps you’re asking them to do”
Entertainers=more the storytellers, and ones most likely to joke.

With directors, you’d just be like “OK, I’ve fixed X for you. Have a great day!”

It isn’t that the categories aren’t useful. I just try not to take it too seriously because it then becomes easy to try and slot people into one or more of the labels and not be open to possibilities outside that paradigm.
