I took ballet as a kid. Iāll never forget being in the locker room and an older student giving some advice.
Think I was about 9 or 10. This guy who maybe was 16/17 came over and asked how I was enjoying the classes. I got to dance with all the girls and be the center of attention being the only boy in class, of course I loved it.
His advice? āStick with it. This will work out for you in ways you will never imagine.ā He refused to say anything more beyond that. Being older, now I know what he meant especially with that smile.
The guys who take ballet end up dating some hotties. I see the same thing with people who take musical theatre.
So a grown man in a pole dancing class, the odds are in your favor. Plus you meet some
really interesting dynamic women who are just cool to hang with - even if sex isnāt a possibility. Relationships, sexual preference, personality differences on either endā¦but still total fun.
Pole dancing classes are anything but hostile. And they arenāt gendered. So you can be trans, bi, queer - itās very inclusive, open to all and welcoming. Mostly Iāve found though itās full of women who think itās cool/sweet/hot that a guy wants to take the classes.
Plus youāll end up giving your opinions on routines because some of them actually strip for a living. You get to see all the hard work made to look effortless when they are actually on stageā¦
