When I read this this morning, it set off an interesting thought process, that I suppose is technically esoteric, but maybe not really so much.
I started reflecting on our funny human nature. If there is someting about which we are 99.999% ignorant and unknowing, we will still find a way to spend most of our time arguing about the .001% that we have even a slight clue about. And for us, in the midst of our strident debating, that .001% will, in our practical view, usually thoroughly eclipse the other 99.999% for the simply expedient fact that we can’t talk about that part.
So, we’ll have something called The Great Unknown, and our conversations around it will be like this:
Person A: Well, it was 12:37 pm on Thursday, when Johann Velsig first encountered the Great Unknown!
Person B: No! No! No! It was 1:18 am on Friday! That’s when Velsig encountered the Great Unknown. This is obvious! You haven’t done your research!
And I sat reflecting on this endearing, annoying tendency of ours to argue over the slightest grain of sand of Slippery Reality. Whatever we’re able to grasp even a slight hold of.
And then it reminded me of the Three Sisters, the Graeae; who between them managed to muster up the grand sum of 1 working eye and 1 usable tooth.
And Perseus was able to outwit and bypass these awesomely powerful Graeae by doing what?
By nudging them to argue over the tiny bit of usable value that they possessed. Which they did quite readily. haha. The one thing we’ll usually agree to do is argue.
And then I thought about how these ‘Three Sisters’ kind of reminded me of Thesis, Antithesis, and Synthesis. (and Dialectics). And I thought, ‘wow, those Greeks were not too shabby, were they?’ Their mythology contains so many roots of Philosophy, Archetype, and Ontological reason.
Those three sisters, the Graeae, guarding and protecting three other sisters, the Gorgons, including the beautiful (in my mind’s eye) Medusa, who stood guard over the secrets of the boundaries and connections between Life (pliant, moving flesh) and Death (rigorous, stonelike paralyzed flesh). The snakes age-old symbols of rebirth and transformation (due to their practice of emerging renewed from their shed skin) obeyed Medusa and grew out of her.
Yet, the treacherous, rocky shoals of argument and pride, tripped up even these profound Great Beings.
Today, we only speak of Medusa as a cautionary tale. ‘Haha. Look how the brave youth tricked her.’
I say that she was worthy of great respect and was the keeper of secret depths of Nature.
But, hey; a hero’s got to do what a hero’s got to do.
Sometimes.
But there are some contests where to win means that you have Lost. (‘You have won the power and the right to destroy your own home!’)
There are some contests in which losing means that you have Won. (‘You have struggled to overcome the Laws of Nature, but…sorry, you have lost.’ response: ‘really? Let’s celebrate!’)
Sometimes the victory is in the struggle more than in the outcome. (‘I fought with an Angel and just before she threw me out of the Heavens, she looked me in the eye and gave me a nod of respect. And that one nod has warmed and brightened my heart through my darkest of days.’)
Anyway, these are the thoughts I had after reading Saint this morning.

One thing that I think will be interesting to see once the new subs drop is how the anti-recon tech expresses, especially with the new Hero.
One thing I’ve noticed through the dream journalling in the locked forum, is how the IC themes and specifically real life situations which might lead to recon are being worked out in the dreams - from ethical/virtue related issues, to loyalty/routine vs open connection, skill development/learning vs human interaction, the areas where potential conflicts might arise have played themselves out in dreams to see how I might handle them in real life.
It’s only been as I’ve been able to recall greater amounts of the dream activity through my meditative practices that I’ve been able to confirm that the themes are directly linked to the sub in which anti-recon tech was placed.
Now I can imagine with a sub that deals with skill development, reflexes, avoiding situations which would lead to conflict, and in some cases learning self defense/martial arts etc, that the anti-recon tech is going to lead to some very intense dream activity. And spiritually oriented subs may be just as intense given the internal conflicts that may arise there too. Even though the tech seems to cross the boundary of the sub it’s present in and breathe into others, the majority of the relevant dream activity seems targeted to the sub it’s located within.
Does this match y’all experience? Any observations you can share that might agree with or contradict these observations?

I’m not really ‘good’ at dreaming, but I had a dream (when running TS with the recon tech) where I stood up to my father, who multiplied into two. I had to face them both, which I did with courage and resolve. Later in the day, I noticed that some parts of my shadow had been unlocked and integrated, so there’s definitely a “topical” connection between your dreams and the shifts in your mind.

I know you’ve mentioned shadow work and integration of “complexes” before with regards to the tech, but do you see any connection between these complexes or characters and your ability to express the goals of the sub?
I don’t see how that kind of dream scenario would relate to True Social and its goals, but it could do if that relationship strongly impacts how you express yourself in the world.
For me I’ve had characters both real (from my past) and imagined (archetypal male and female with specific characteristics) which interact with me in a way that brings up a conflict or a social issue to deal with, and then I have to express myself in order to learn if that action does or doesn’t work for resolving the issue.
Edit: its almost as if the astral is acting as the grounds for a simulation to take place.

ok, that makes sense. So there is the same kind of sense of setting up learning scenarios to deal with conflicts or obstacles to the expression of the sub in your experience. Just processed in a different way through your own particular filters of how you view the deeper mind. Is that an accurate statement?
Edit: either way probably leading away from the purpose of my original post, mentioning that I’m interested to see how this is going to manifest in a sub/subs with completely different end goals.
"I’m running AoW now, and the only difference I’ve seen so far (I ran the first loop in the morning) is that the new recon tech works topically, which shouldn’t surprise anyone, I suppose.
The only similarity I see in how we both process it is that it’s our Unknown mind (subconscious, deeper mind, or whatever you want to call it) that guides us through the process. How we understand “mind” (our idea of it) doesn’t matter.
For me, there’s no premeditation, planning, or setup—everything happens “in real time” and is largely based on self-introspection, intuition, logic, and reasoning. It feels like I’m “reasoning” with my subconscious, so to speak, although it’s actually the subconscious guiding me by revealing things to me. A language-like process—almost like a dialogue (but not really verbal)—is the gateway here. Only my “final conclusion” (final thought, so to speak) upon the shifts that have happened is strictly verbal.

well I’m not saying I consciously planned it either to have a dark haired dreadlocked babe sprinkling rose petals on me inside a tent wanting me to stay and party with them while my friends waited for me to go do something with them instead, either 
But the way I’ve seen it, it’s like little bits of past experience and manufactured images somehow coalesce into learning experiences. But they’re in the form of experiences I might have in the outer world with the sub, and then I get to try it out ahead of time and figure out how to put the pieces of the mind into right relationship or balance. I don’t feel like I’m reasoning with my subconscious, its more like it’s presenting me with possible scenarios so that I can experiment/explore. Now, that could be due to my personality and learning style (I’m a Sagittarius). But my experience doesn’t feel reasoned, more explorative. So maybe the method of resolving recon in this way is being tailored to the basic nature of the conscious mind of the individual.

Yes, I can confirm that it’s a learning process or like a learning process. Once I find logic and reason in the shift that is occurring, it becomes definite and permanent—because going back would contradict that logic and reason; it would be nonsense. For that reason, there’s no more trench warfare—no more two steps forward, one step back. It’s blitzkrieg—rapid movement forward.
I’ve noticed my mind trying to revert to some “reconciled structures”—debunked beliefs and limitations—only for me to immediately say to myself: What the fuck, dude, you know that’s nonsense, and that would be the end of it. In other words, the recurring process of reconciliation of the same structures / debunking the same beliefs, and limitations becomes relatively painless and rapid compared to the initial “episode” / “session”. Eventually, the recurrence stops altogether. It seems to me that how often it recurs depends on the depth and complexity of the structures being reconciled / of the beliefs and limits being debunked.
Naturally, there’s a lot going on semi-consciously and unconsciously, where that specific process isn’t involved, yet other shifts occur nonetheless. However, the nature of the recon tech (I mean its mechanic related to reconciliation in itself rather than to its unpleasant effects) seems to be based on exploring and learning. In me, in the way I described above.
However, it’s not only about learning through introspection, intuition, and reasoning, but also about discovering the true self—and then, when false beliefs or limitations that were previously debunked resurface, I simply and immediately reject them by fully understanding that they are not part of me… not really, and not anymore. In short, it’s not just pure reasoning and logic but also deep psychology.
