Sentinel, you hit the nail on the head.
My ideal situation is to continue to be a closer at this company BUT ALSO be a paid, recognized coach, and client results strategist.
work drama BS no need to read unless u really want to
Currently I do some coaching for free because I love it, and even while spending less time selling than the other closers, I’m top guy every month.
Part of the friction is my sales manager wants me to sell more and get coaching out of my head. The customer success manager doesn’t want me poking around in her department. But the CEO is encouraging this interest of mine and giving me customer success projects that both managers resent me for taking on.
And now that they are upset, maybe don’t even know he got me to do things, he is saying “it’s not my decision if they fire you or not, the managers run the company not me, I can’t interfere.” Cowardly stuff.
I wasn’t saying I’d leave a sales career to coach, I’m just saying coaching is what makes being at this place worth all the shit they put me through
If I stayed here, I’d close still, but I would also be more acknowledged for what else I can do for the community.
But what I was saying about purpose Azriel is that if I were a PURE closer, I wouldn’t choose this company, there are better companies out there who treat their closers way better. We churn people like cray. But I stayed because this is more than just closing for me.
