Well, yes and no.
This depends on the readers start point.

For some, starting from a very low base, simply need to know there are a range of opinions on a subject. That is enough for them to improve and indeed any detailed discussion on the merits would be outside the individuals scope for improvement, it would simply be too much information.

At a higher level, the correct reasoning is all that is required.

The correct reasoning would lead to the correct answer and any other, wrong, answers would be superfluous.
