It is, but you can have that as a core in a QV2 custom. You’ll get the long term benefits of it versus the quick boost like you would get with the Ultima.
Yeah just read the support article, good tip!
It’s not gab. Part of the goal is to diffuse tension, but another part is to build trust such that people want to follow you.
Lookup Chris Voss (former FBI hostage negotiator) and Tactical Empathy.
Can’t add much. Everything I’ve thought of seems to be in someone else’s list.
I’ll share this. Man, can’t believe it’s already about 18 years old.
Talks about some groundbreaking work at the time by a police officer (who later worked as a state attorney-general, I think). It’s talking about the work of the great Thich Nhat Hanh. After about minute 13 is when they get into the work with police officers.
Police officers, firefighters, soldiers. They run towards the smoke, when everyone else is running away.
A strong, pliant spirit and heart are important for the job. Ways to release stress, anger, and trauma. Knowing your values and what you stand for. Capacity for teamwork and leadership.
Intellect is also an important part (so I was glad to see @friday include that module): tactical and strategic thinking, but also big picture thinking and emotional intelligence (For effective communication within your team, with other professionals, and with the public).
Another interesting point: this is a job of social influence. So aura effects will make a difference.
Must admit that this seems like the best Cores for the police. That or replace Spartan with PCC.
Emperor wouldn’t be required if one is a cop cause it pushed to running your own business.
And no wonder @Simon described a corrupt cop as one who had Emperor or Khan in their custom. Cause every corrupt cop has his hand in the drugs business lol
Yes.
If we’re talking archetypes, a police officer is closer to a Knight than to an Emperor.
To Protect and Serve
Absolutely. Emperor is the King archetype vs Spartan being the Warrior/Knight archetype.
Added to mah research lischt.
This is a familiar name, also added to mah lischt.
Simon’s a funny one, that’s for sure
Being a black/indian in America, my thoughts are a bit on the opposite spectrum of any corrupt inclinations.
I actually decided to pursue it months ago when they were talking about “decommissioning the police”. I have a lot of words for that that my guys RV and Dark might frown on, so I’ll keep em to myself. But yeah man, law enforcement has been on the rocks for a bit now.
My brother also has become a new cop in another state and I found out right after I made the decision and that was a sign for me.
I’m going to definitely be putting this custom together over a period of time (between one day till oblivion methinks) so there’s no rush
Thank you everyone for contributing! Ideas are definitely still welcome.
Are you putting yourself through academy (may or may not be possible depending on what state you are in) or trying to get hired by an agency that puts you through one?
If it’s the latter, your first problem is getting hired, and that can be a stone bitch, once again depending on where you’re at.
The toughest part of that is the oral board interview, which you have to not just pass, but ace. By ace I mean score higher than enough other people that you have fewer people ahead of you than they have hiring slots.
Feel free to copy my Oral Board Ultima.
- The Commander Ultima Core
- True Social Ultima Core
- Dragon Tongue
- Information Releaser
- Furious Ascent
- Mosiac
I’ve only used it for two boards so far, but they felt great. I didn’t get hired, but the time is coming.
For academy, if I ever have to take another one, I’m going to go with a custom with Ascension, Spartan, and Limitless as cores.
I would avoid the HELL out of large urban departments these days.
I have done the job so feel free to ask anything you want.
I’ll add Journey’s Guide to the must have list. Most agencies won’t allow you to use a GPS on Field Training. I had trouble with that.
I can’t hit the like button hard enough.
Also, don’t shy away from getting in on the detention side of a Sheriff’s Office. You will gain experience dealing with people that you can’t get anywhere else.
Emperor Cop =
- Wanting to build an empire; side hustles for money, easy to corrupt
- Wants to work, not sit around; very angry on slow days, because itching to ACT on something
Khan Cop =
- Will build an empire of Informer Hoes, whom he also “uses” in many other ways
- Itching to pick a fight with anyone, at the slightest infraction
Neither will be nice guys like
I’m not a cop but this is exactly what Khan feels like to me although stage 1.
@Simon your description of Khan seems to be very very accurate!
Please share more even on my journal.
Emp gives me the solid indisputable command presence that is exactly what you need in that line of work. I’ll definitely use it in a doing the job sub.
He has to worry about getting hired and getting through academy first though, and those are different things.
That is why…
Commander =
- Command Presence and Aura
- The ability to go without Food, Water, or Sleep for hours – when necessary
- Automatic avoidance of bad habits and addictions
- Resolution of internal conflicts, leading to clear thinking
Yes. Adding it to a Q Custom will still retain most of its benefits.
@Sage_Ninjistic, add Stress Displacement to your consideration list.
Sanguine as well. Wish I’d had that when I was a CO.
Yes, to the academy. Or I’m going to look into getting my post certificate first.
Las Vegas Metropolitan, if that helps.
